I've seen most of the missing pieces of Battle via, I believe, Hunter's
site. I'm on a Mac Powerbook so I don't seem to be able to view the Windows
formatted stuff on PotaDG. I did live in Asia for over five years, but I
never encountered the Japanese laserdisc version of Battle. For some
reason, even though the Japanese are nuts over POTA, no one seems to care
very much in Taiwan (Republic of China) where I lived.
What I think "the powers that be" really need to do is get off their butts
and release a special anniversary set of each of the last four films. I
don't know if J. Lee Thompson is still alive, but wouldn't it be great to
see the extended version of Battle on DVD with commentary by him and/or
Frank Capra Jr.? Wouldn't it be great to see a fully restored version,
complete with it's original ending (if it still exists) of Conquest? They
really need to do this before everyone involved with each production passes
away!
