I suppose, unlike Stanley Kubrick, who did not spontaneously change wives and home, the sources would have to come from a wider spread.  For example if you went to anne levy, you’d only get his early stuff.

So who do you think would have the most information concerning Sellers photography? Would Anne Levy ( Hayes) know the most? Does she have anything to do with PSAS?

I don't know if effects have been done through on-lenses filters
or in post-processing, but knowing the Cokin system, a diffuser filter
should be used in order to attain that dreamy feeling, slight off-focus
and soft appearance within portrait. Other portraits have been done
through some sort of centre spot filter, depending on the angle of
lenses used. This sort of filter leaves only the central object sharp.
Hmmm...yes, if I think twice, that's why the composition had to be
centred.

Anyhow, photos look very old-fashioned in a romantic way to me. Very
sensitive, almost feminine. They reminded me of something I think Sellers
had said, about a song he liked for a while, "I have dreamed"...dreamy
indeed, but expressive too. I mean, look at those eyes...

I heard he did some shooting for "Vogue". Surely those snaps should be
available to take a look at, but I didn't manage to dig up anything :-(
Yes, his friends and family should summon what's left of his work, I think
it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All! You would think that somebody by this point would have compliled whatever photography Peter did into a coffee table size book, he certainly did a lot of work. Would Graham Stark know? Or David Lodge?

the best of British luck finding an answer to this!

Hello,

Unforunately Yahoo groups doesn't store any pictures/attachments
anymore, so
if you read the group mails from the website you cannot see any of
those. To
receive pictures, go to "edit membership" and choose "Individual

which will allow you to receive our group's e-mails directly in your

If you have further problems receiving attachments, contact me or

Take care.

Oh yes, I got them! Sorry for the nagging...Very interesting composition, clear
and centred, not
usual, though it can work, specially on the last one where background IS halved
by the wall. He
liked to use filters, I see. Did he develop his own photographs or he gave them
to the studio?
Wow...this really was precious, thank you for sharing!

Unfortunately, I read: "No attachment stored" and cannot see the pics!
Any solutions to the problem?

Hello all!

No, I'm not wondering about photographs featuring Peter Sellers, but actually,
about those HE took
:-) I'm rather new to the fan club and still explore around the Sellers legacy,
but I was happy when
I found out he was into the photography. Since taking pictures in an
old-fashioned way (I own '82
Nikon) is my beloved hobby, I would jump-of-joy if I could be able to take a
peak at Sellers' snaps.
Would that be possible? Anywhere? Thanx...

thank you for that clarification---however, I have a problem with the yahoo user id.Which is the person's terminal that I was using to join is the name on the yahoo id, not my own yahoo user id.

all I need to do, I think, is to have yahoo correct this.

so how would you have yahoo correct this the easiest way?

please let me know.

thanks again,

Hello, Scott.

The procedure is very simple. You write what you want to say and you
post it to the group. There are currently no active topics, and if
you would like to start one I will join in with a great pleasure!

Regards,
Olga.

Hello all,

We have a new member. Here is what he has to say,

"I was a correspondent with Spike Millgan and Norma Farnes for many
years--I am true goonaddict and love Spike, Peter, and Harry."

It sounds really fascinating, and I, for one, would love to hear more. Please, feel free to post anything related to Peter Sellers and his goon show colleagues, I am looking forward to hearing from you!

The group moderator,
Olga.

Hello All,

There were a number of additions to PSAS website you might want to check out. The Photo Gallery section has loads of great pictures, some of them you might have never seen in your life. And by all means you must visit the Quizes section, where now you may also create your own quiz! It is very easy and it is fun to do!

Hope you'll enjoy it!

Take care.
Olga.

Welcome Jewel!

May I say that you expressed so beautifully so much of what brings us all together in PSAS.

Some (like you) were fortunate enough to be able to follow PS from early on (you can count on two hands the people in PSAS who have seen in WHERE DOES IT HURT? in a theater...!).

Some have discovered PS only in recent decades...

...after he was gone, but never forgotten and always ready to be revisited and/or newly discovered.

I should also like to recommend this for publication in PSAS Magazine.

Best regards,

Subject: [PeterSellersAppreciationSociety] Hi from the Newbie

Hi, I'm Jewel, and I'm glad to have found this group.

I've been a fan of Peter's since I was a small child in the early 60's.  Being so young, I couldn't recognize names real well, but when Dad would tell us there was a movie on with "Tully" in it, I came running.
After a few years, we weren't allowed to watch his movies anymore, but I didn't know why at the time.  Well, the mid-60's had come and, all of a sudden, dad didn't like Tully anymore.  ;o)

By the mid-70's, Dad had either mellowed in his opinion, or he just realized we weren't little kids anymore, and when What's New, Pussycat? showed up on the evening movie one night, I got to see my first 1960's Peter Sellers film, much to Dad's later regret.  I was hooked.  No longer the"Tully" of my childhood, Peter had taken on a much larger and more important place in my heart, one I wasn't yet old enough to understand fully.

Sometime later, There's A Girl in My Soup came on, and this time, I understood fully what this man meant to me.  This film will forever have a special place in my heart, no matter what anyone else has to say about it.

Now, obsessed, and old enough to babysit to earn my own 'movie money', I must have seen Where Does It Hurt? a dozen times, at least.  When Return came out, I was at the theatre everyday for weeks.

Over the years, as I settled into young adulthood and other things grabbed my attention, I thought less and less of Peter, but still enjoyed any new movies he came out with.  To my everlasting regret, I completely missed Being There when it was at the theatre, but remember watching the Academy Awards show, rooting for my man, and being very upset when he was snubbed.  I was outraged.  That young upstart Hoffman instead of Peter!?  How can that be?  But, the Academy being what it was/is, that's just the way it goes.  They were wrong and anyone with any sense knew it.

Not long after, at work one day, the news came over the radio, and a small part of my youth died with him.

Now, I look back over the decades and recall what it was like to grow up with Peter's movies and I feel sorry for those who didn't have that Chance.

But, thanks to the internet, I can now re-visit not only my childhood, but my Tully as well.

~Jewel~

Hello,

New poll has been created for PSAS website. You can vote for your
favourite Peter Sellers's film here-

http://www.petersellersappreciationsociety.com/HTML/Poll.php

Of course, to choose only one favourite movie out of so many is hard,
that's why you can vote as many times as you like! Enjoy it!

Regards,
Olga.

Welcome to the list, Jason!

I am the list's moderator. Feel free to post messages related to Peter
Sellers. If you want to post a message which is off topic, please, use
letters "OT" in the subject of your message (for example, OT- Happy
Birthday!).

I ask you to avoid any political or religious themed discussions as it
may result in negative reactions from other members.

When posting pictures, please, remember to use jpg format and keep the
size under 300 Kb as it may be difficult to download for those of us
who use dial-up connection.

You can share your pictures with everyone by uploading them
into "Photos" section, and you can share any other information about
Peter Sellers by uploading it to the "Files" section. Also keep in
mind that the space given to every group by yahoo is limited.

And I would like you to write a couple of words about yourself too,
just to know you better.

Regards,
Olga.
