Also adding to the "Oh Come On!" factor, a great many
of the costumes in "Ray" were old vintage finds, or
based directly on films from the past (ie: one of the
back up singers dresses was a direct re-dyed copy of
Marilyn Monroe's famous white grate dress) so
basically they nominated them for watching a few old
movies and shopping at thrift stores.
