I'm new, and haven't intor'd myself. Might get around to it someday.
I'd like to pipe in on what I most admire in Paul's story, what little of
it I've read.
When his movie STRICTLY BALLROOM came out, he was such a hit w/everyone I
knew. We hoped to see MUCH MORE of him. I figured, when we didn't, he went
back to dancing and that was that. Well, showing the movie the other week,
a whole new generation has now become fans! I had to tell them that he
(Paul) had chosen a higher road, and prioritized his family instead of
moving to decadent Tinsel Town. (aka Hollywood, where divorce and broken
homes is the ever present sub-title to every flick.) When I explained his
decision to think of his family (wife and kids) first, well, THAT made a
huge impact!
We all think Paul's decision cost US, and him professionally. Sad on both
ends. BUT - our admiration for this man makes him a winner and we all have
deep respect for anyone who has the COURAGE and LOVE it takes to do that.
And in our book, well, that makes him SUCCESSFUL.
Fab Dancer. Great Actor. Increadable Man.
Now, how about all of us start sending GOOD ENERGY to Paul that the
industry finally open their eyes to someone who can be a great money maker
(their bottom lin, heh?).
