Can you not customize your desktop on a mac? In Windows, you can
customize everything--the background, icons, the works. So no, it has
nothing to do with Flash or Shockwave. Often, movie sites allow you
to download a "theme" which will customize your entire desktop
quickly. For example, I used to have a Lilo and Stitch theme that
changed my pointer to a little Stitch, my wallpaper to a scene from
the movie, and all the other aspects of my desktop to something L&S
related.

A desktop theme is not something you use on the web. You would
download it from the web, and use it on your computer.
