To All,

I have heard on some of the lists that there are rumors that Chicago was bombed
as well. One story I read saide it was the Sears Tower. Chicago is fine. No
bombs have gone off atthis point and no unexpoded devices have been found. As a
precaution, most buildings downtown (including the Sears Tower, the Hancock
Building, the Federal Building, the Thompson Building which is the state
building in Chicago, a number of museums, offices, and stores) have closed for
the day. While city hall is still open, a number of workers left. The three
airfields, O'Hare, Midway, and Miegs Field have closed to all traffic. All
police officers are on active duty until further notice. The city's emergency
control center is open. I have heard several fire engines go by but no
explosions so I'm not sure if it is normal runs or emergency prevention.

Julie
