"Blade Runner' Inspiration, Philip K. Dick's `Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep' Headed To Comics
The Philip K. Dick story "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?," which
served as the inspiration for the 1982 science-fiction film "Blade
Runner," will be adapted into a 24-issue comic book series by publisher
Boom Studios.
Announced earlier today, the series will adapt the award-winning
story by "mixing all new panel-to-panel continuity with the actual text
from the novel." Artist Steven Dupre ("Wolf") will provide interior art
for the series, and you can expect to see the first issue hit shelves
in June. "Transmetropolitan" and "FreakAngels" writer Warren Ellis — no
stranger to celebrated science-fiction storytelling — will provide
"backmatter" in each issue.
Boom also provided a trio of cover images from the upcoming series.
