Reed hits the beach in 'O.C.'
By Nellie Andreeva
Nikki Reed, star and co-writer of the acclaimed indie feature film
"thirteen," is set to make her TV debut with a four-episode arc on
Fox's drama "The O.C."
Reed will play a girl who joins the group of Newport Beach, Calif.,
teens in the center of the show, which is produced by Warner Bros. TV
and Wonderland Sound and Vision.
It will be a somewhat familiar setting for Reed, who grew up in another
Southern California beach community, Venice.
Reed won an Independent Spirit Award for her breakthrough performance
in "thirteen," the movie based on her experience as a rebellious
13-year-old, which she penned with the movie's director, Catherine
Hardwicke.
She recently appeared in the summer release "Lords of Dogtown" and in
"American Gun," which screened at the Toronto International Film
Festival.
Reed, who next appears in "Cherry Crush," is repped by CAA, manager
Booh Schut and attorney Steve Warren.
