Over $2 Billion worth of production have chosen Louisiana since 2002.
• Louisiana has experienced the highest statewide film activity
growth in the United States. Louisiana is the leading film location
outside of the traditional production hubs of California and New
York (ERA study)
• Shreveport is Louisiana's newest production center, it has earned
the distinction "as one of the Top Ten Cities to live, work, and
make movies" by MovieMaker Magazine
• Louisiana's motion picture industry enjoys an annual employment
growth rate of 23% per year! That is the highest film industry
employment growth in the country. Over the last few years the annual
growth in wages has been greater than 31%! (ERA)
• Louisiana's progressive motion picture incentives have cultivated
our infrastructure such as local soundstages, motion picture service
companies, and a growing skilled labor pool.
• The economic impact of direct in-state spending is dramatically
increasing:
2005: 33% of a production's budget estimated to stay within Louisiana
2006: 72% of a production budget stays within our economy
2007: 87% is being spent in Louisiana!
• The entertainment industry contributes to the diversification of
