I'm aiming to be part of the 'verse for a while, and get to know more

Welcome to the Verse Chuck. I was a Buffy fan - Wheddon just writes
danged good characters. Knowing my love of science fiction a very
good friend essentially held me down and forced me to watch the first
episode shortly after she got her DVDs. By the time Kaylee was eating
strawberries I was well and truly hooked.  I didn't join Browncoatdom
until Serenity was being screened for charity.......I went to the
local screening and met up with some of my local coats ..and was
completely hooked!

As much as you love the series and movie, you're going to enjoy your
fellow 'coats more.

We have set a goal of 55 cities this year. so if your city is not listed
there, dont give up hope. it may mean your organiser simply hasnt posted
interest just yet, and is waiting to sort out details with venue etc
before announcing they are in, or that your city is awaiting an
organiser. That could be you! sounds daunting, we know. but every event
so far has been run by simple ordinary fans, most who would never have
thought they were capable of organising anything beyond birthday parties
(well maybe im speaking of myself there), let alone an event like this,
but they can and they do, with amazing success. And we can't reach that
goal without you guys picking up the mantle.

There some good news and some bad news.

The bad news is that Adam Baldwin went and got a job, which means he
won't be able to make it to Shore Leave this year after all.  The web
site doesn't have details, but presumably this is something on the big
screen.

The good news is that another Firefly guest is taking his place:  Jewel
Staite.

So while I'm sure everyone's disappointed that Adam won't be there, we
do get to look forward to seeing Jewel.

year's Farpoint, but based on what various friends who've interacted
with them, pretty much all of the BDH are quite personable.

And yes, tell your minions.  Bring as many minions as you can.  We need
as many minions as we can get in order to take over this planet!

I will be there.  While I am disappointed that Adam won't be there I am not
surprised.  Its my fault.  I was supposed to meet him at Moonlight Rising, he
canceled.  I was supposed to meet him at Flanvention and the con went belly up. 
He showed up Thursday night anyway and hung out with fans, my flight was Friday
morning.  Its a trend and I highly expected it to continue.  So the blame lies
with me I'm afraid.  I did want to meet Agent Casey.

But on a happy note..... Jewel Staite YAY!!!!!
