CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS!
The 48 Hour Film Project returns to Maine. In one wild, sleepless weekend, you
and a
team will make a movie–write, shoot, edit, and score it. From scratch. In 48
hours.
There are three ways to be involved:
1. FORM A TEAM. If you can rustle up enough folks to make a movie, great! The
project is
open to all - professionals and amateurs. Just put together a team and register
on-line at
http://www.48hourfilm.com/portland_maine and then meet us on Friday, August 15,
ready to go. There are only a limited number of slots - and a discount is
available for
early registration - so apply soon.
2. JOIN A TEAM. If you'd like to participate, but can't form a team, you can
definitely still
be involved. Get your information to team leaders at:
http://www.48hourfilm.com/join and keep your ear to the ground by signing up for
the
Portland, Maine 48HFP Yahoo! Group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/48hfpmaine
3. WATCH THE MOVIES. Come out to the see the movies and meet the filmmakers.
The
show will take place at the Cinemagic Westbrook on Thursday, August 21.
Meet other filmmakers, spend 2 days in intense movie making, and have your film
screened at the Cinemagic Westbrook. As part of the 48 Hour Film Project, your
film will
also compete to represent Portland, Maine at the 48HFP national screening and
for
additional prizes - this year, winning filmmakers from 25 US cities and 5
international
cities attended the Cinequest Film Festival and a selection of the 2007 48HFP
films were
screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Get the scoop on all the bling and
your entry
instructions at: http://www.48hourfilm.com.
So come on out and make a movie!
