its Fall 2007 meeting and panelist program will be held on Thursday,
September 27th, at the Maine Media Workshops

7:30pm. This event promises to be an exciting one, with three Workshop
faculty presenting; a reception hosted by The Workshops; dinner at the
Workshops; and an Opening Night program at the Camden International Film

7:30 - Camden Int'l Film Festival at the Strand in Rockland
<http://www.rocklandstrand.com/home.html> . Premiere of film "Meeting
Resistance", followed by Q&A with Director's Molly Bingham and Steve
Connors ($8 admission). For more information, visit
www.camdenfilmfest.com <http://www.camdenfilmfest.org/film.php?film=7>

"Meeting Resistance", the aforementioned film, is a verite-style
non-fiction feature-length film set in the streets, alleyways and
ubiquitous teashops of the Adhamiya neighborhood of Baghdad. It enters
the physical and psychological heart of the "insurgency" against the
American occupation. Photojournalists/directors Steve Connors and Molly
Bingham spent ten-months among the insurgents there to create this
exclusive, unique, and at once horrifying, compelling and insightful
film about their lives, motivation, and goals. They will be in
attendance to lead a Q&A.

For more information, contact Richard Kane, MFVA Board,
kanelewis@.... The entrance fee for the MFVA panel is $5 for
non-members; MFVA members enter for free. Tickets to the MFVA's
dinner at MMW are $10/person; please RSVP to Richard Kane as soon as
possible. This is a panel that is not to be missed!
