Ric Sechrest Direct's "Still Life" by Emily Mann @ 78th Street Lab   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #101 of 178 |
Last summer the Washington Post did a story on Vietnam Veterans reliving
their horrific experiences through the imagery and media attention to the Iraq
War. Thousands of these Vets suffer from Post -Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
with disability compensation cases nearly doubling since 2000 to an all-time
high of more than 260,000. the biggest surge has come since 2003, when war began
in Iraq.

Set a few years after the Vietnam Conflict:

STILL LIFE tells the painful story of former Marine Mark, his estranged wife
Cheryl and his mistress, Nadine - all doing what they can to survive the dark
and disturbing memories which plague Mark; flashbacks which often cause him to
lash out in anger. In their own way, all three are deeply affected by the
confusion of war, the refusal to talk about it and unsuccessful attempts to
understand. In their attempts to reconnect they must face the skeletons inside
and the chasm it has left in their lives.

Friends, We are
Open! Buy your tickets in advance to guarantee your seat! Let me know when you
might come, I will be sure to be there! Sincerely, Ric Sechrest
