TTT Legolas toy- details   Topic List   < Prev Topic  |  Next Topic >

Has anyone else who has the Legolas noticed that you can see the back
detailing on his Jerkin this time? The cloak and quiver lift up, and
although the armour straps are a little obstructive you get quite a good
view of the etching. So our original pattern guess was pretty close, if
this is accurate. (I also just looked at my FOTR Legolas again - and lo
and behold, there's the lacing inside his sleeves...)
The TTT figure has the shirt wrong though, it is black plastic with
silver painted over so it looks all wrong. The quiver and bow however,
are great - lovely detail on the peacock, and the carved bow, new
arrows, fellowship cloak and leaf brooch.... According to the toy the
vambraces are identical to his FOTR ones, just like Tammy said. They
even have a reasonable approximation of the tooling on the leather
straps and pauldrons. Oddly enough, this time round the face looks a
tad more like Elrond...
Oh - and for anyone who has the third edition of the Fan mag, page 10
there is a great pic of Legolas watching the playback on a scene with
PJ, in his Lorien gear - perfect view of the side of his silk shirt,
showing the rolled collar construction - it's quite soft and crumples at
the back of the neck... also good detail of the arm applique cord work.
Also, watching the DVD again I got a beautiful shot somewhere of the
inverted pleat (with underlay) on the side of Legolas' silk shirt, from
the waist down below his belt.....
Now I just need to study Faramir... those chaps appear to be separate to
the jerkin, which would be accurate, I guess - chaps are like a kind of
apron belted round the waist, aren't they? (Not many cowboys in Oz -
just jackeroos and rodeo kings...)
