New Legolas Costume and update on his silver shirt.   Message List

I haven't mailed to you guys in a while as life has reared its busy head, but I
was watching the EE DVD Appendices and noticed a couple of things.

1) if you look closely at the costume documentary when the scroll up his silver
shirt on a dress form you will notice that the inside of the arms from about mid
bicep to the elbow bend or possibly a bit lower actually lace up. I don't know
if this has been noticed or is common knowledge, but I've never read it before.

2) in the 4th disc of the ROTK EE set, either in the book to vision or vision to
reality segment, they talk of a couple of scenes they filmed showing us what
happens in more depth to the members of the fellowship after the ring is
destroyed, we see gimli checking out on heck of a diamond and we also see
legolas admiring his homeland mirkwood trees in a completely new outfit! It's
similar to his lothlorien shirt, only exactly what is shown in the concept art
(i.e full skirted cotehardie split front and back instead of midthigh that is
fitted with pleats on the side. which is what we see in the silver shirt.) only
this new costume mixes in his coronation outfit with the use of the same buttons
and same fabric. though this fabric appears an olive green version, but could be
digital color grading. also, the applique embellishment is different. it's a
darker circle near the bottom of the applique. also, while the shoulder
appliques are of the coronation fabric, it looks like the sleeves, which are
really long on the outside, long enough to completely cover the hand and finger
tips, is also a different fabric from the rest of the outfit. it looks like a
lighter green fabric with white or silver spots on it. could be a pebbled cut
velvet back with a taffeta or something. I dont know as it is a very brief
glimpse at the costume. also, this time he has a new belt that looks like it
holds a sword. cant see his boots or even hose, but figure, since they made a
new version of the same thing in different colors for his coronation robes,
maybe they used his oringinal boots? and his hair is completely down.

Again, I don't know if this has been discovered since I haven't seen or read
anything about it. But since it interested me immensely to find this out i
really wanted to share these two things with you! Let me know what you think.
and if anyone could make screen caps i would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
