[JACK] Male Caucasian, early to late 60s. Charismatic, charming,
everyone's friend. He's retired, but living out
his second childhood from the closed down bar he still owns. He's
raised our main character, Julius, since the
age of 7 after his father died of a drug overdose. They are very
close. Julius is the son whom Jack never had.
He does have a daughter, Erica, who left him years ago. Jack is
instantly likable. He is not only a father figure,
but also a friend to Julius and has a keen sense about what is going
on with him. He's playful, easy going. He's
giving himself permission to live the life he never got to live.
Though he's not a pervert by any means, he enjoys
telling his buddies about his newfound adventureful sex life, which he
pays for, along with showing them his
book on sexual positions which he checks off one by one…
[NAPOLEON] Male, 25 - 35. Caucasian. Very thin. Very intelligent. He
has blocked all the light from the
windows and never leaves his house. He has his groceries delivered
along with anything else he may need.
He's a voracious reader, keenly aware of numerous conspiracy theories.
He stays up for days at a time on
speed and is emotionally unstable. He's a drug dealer, mostly dealing
speed. Tall, skinny, strange looking.
Something like "coke-bottle thick glasses with extremely white skin
and stringy blond hair." He's not only a
dealer, but also a user. Intelligent, opinionated, confident in his
paranoia. Definitely eccentric. He needs to
"feel" what he says. He never leaves the house…

[ALBERT] A scruffy man in his mid 70s, with a comb-over hairstyle.
Albert is found dead on the floor of a
casino. No one knows what caused this and no one seems to investigate
it. His life was that of a simple man.
He owned a car wash and tucked away cash. He dies a wealthy man
although he could have easily been
mistaken for being homeless. He was a soft-spoken, sweet man totally
incapable of taking care of himself. He
was always snacking and had a huge sweet tooth. He always seemed to
wear a grin covering mischievous
thoughts…
[MARY] Tough, heavyset woman, mid-late 40s, with cropped black hair,
big plastic glasses. Mary was a young
Catholic girl who came to work for Albert in her early 20s. He took
her in and she lived with Albert and Edna
until he died. What she lacked in education she made up for in
character and fearlessness. She became a
judge in a prison, not because she had a law degree, but because they
were afraid of her and she could relate
to them. She was a better daughter to Albert than his children were…
[KAREN] In her early 40s, has long black frizzy hair. Karen had been a
young, popular, beautiful girl. The
"Lead of the Pack." An Artist. Until one day, she left New York with
no explanation but to spend the next 20
years laying on the floor on her back. Although doctors became the
only phone calls she would make or
receive, she never allowed them to give a diagnosis because she would
move on to the next one. There was
no concrete physical evidence of disease or illness and mentally she
remained a mystery. We believe that
perhaps a rape or some type of violation occurred…
[NURSE] Young blonde, mid 30s, generic…
[SHARON] Late 40s, early 50s, long wavy blondish/brown hair, she is
worn looking. Sharon was a young,
stylish "in the know" type woman. She married a handsome man and had a
beautiful blond baby boy. She, like
Albert, her father, always had a laugh which followed any statement
but hers seemed a bit cynical and wicked.
Instead of kissing you hello, she would bite your nose. After her
awful divorce she left which left no survivors.
She becomes a young Miss Havisham, wearing those same stylish clothes
but 20 years later…
[JARED] Tall, straight, blond haired boy in late teens, early 20s,
very cute, wide-eyed. Jared was Sharon's son.
He grew up in a house divided. Police escorted him to his father's
visits and he was many times in court to
choose a parent. He was raised by his grandmother who instilled in him
an eastern European accent. He was
the focus of everyone's love yet each person wanted him singularly. He
was Sharon's world and he was
imprisoned by it…
  [PAUL] Early 40s, tall, lanky, dark hair in a shag, young face,
mischievous. Paul was always a sweet kid,
popping candy as if it was important as air. He always made bouquets
of beaded flowers and loved kids. He
was a kid which never changed. As a teenager he began to play in a
more dangerous arena and there was a
darkness to his world. He was later on the run from the law…
[BOY] Age 14 to 18 years old, a young and innocent blond boy…
[ANDREW] 30s, dark hair, tall, intense eyes. Andrew is mentally ill,
having delusions and hearing voices. He
chooses to booby trap his room to protect himself from intruders. He
places open books in every inch of the
floor to make walking on solid ground impossible. He sits alone in the
back corner, in darkness protected by the
spirit of these books which surround him…
STORY LINE: This is a family portrait told in vivid, character-based
vignettes, in which each person is revealed
through his/her setting, tone, scene and unique circumstances. We come
to realize, although seemingly alone,
they belong together and each make up THE FAMILY, any family, in all
its idiosyncrasies and quirks. These are
not people we meet every day, but they are our very make-up. We who
are as people. Yours, mine and ours.
They gather for a funeral, the only reason they find themselves
together…

He does have a daughter, Erica, who left him years ago. Jack is
instantly likable. He is not only a father figure,
but also a friend to Julius and has a keen sense about what is
going on with him. He's playful, easy going. He's
giving himself permission to live the life he never got to live.
Though he's not a pervert by any means, he enjoys
telling his buddies about his newfound adventureful sex life,
which he pays for, along with showing them his
book on sexual positions which he checks off one by one…
[NAPOLEON] Male, 25 - 35. Caucasian. Very thin. Very
intelligent. He has blocked all the light from the
windows and never leaves his house. He has his groceries
delivered along with anything else he may need.
He's a voracious reader, keenly aware of numerous conspiracy
theories. He stays up for days at a time on
