construction worker whose dreams of becoming an architect were rudely
interrupted four years ago when a fire destroyed the family home and killed his
parents. Since then he has been dedicated to the care of his intellectually
challenged older brother, Ocie, whom he over-protects. Hard-working, principled
Sol is perturbed, even angered by Ocie's passion for dancing, still upset that
his brother Xavier, now a professional dancer, left home to follow his muse,
leaving Sol to pick up the pieces. Evicted from his apartment after Ocie erupts
in anger, let go by his boss for having relations with his daughter, Sol, though
stressed, is resourceful. He stays focused and strong and eventually discovers
that in allowing Ocie to risk failure he has gained the freedom to pursue his

OCIE GONZALES: 38 years old, Mexican, mentally challenged, he is Sol's older
brother, a child-like man, good-natured, loving, but with a quick temper when
pushed too far. With a passion for dance and music, Ocie loves moving to the
beat, letting the rhythm of the music gives flight to his spirit. In fact, it's
only when he's dancing that he feels "normal." Possessed of a kid-like
enthusiasm, he's initially devastated when put in a home, but quickly adapts
after taking part in the dance classes, thrilled when he learns he'll be part of

STAR HORTON: 22, Caucasian, rebellious, with a star tattooed on her neck, a lip
piercing and short, jet-black hair with red streaks, she is Sol's girlfriend,
the daughter of Sol's boss and the office receptionist at the construction site
where Sol works. She is a feisty minx of a girl, often calling Sol to the
trailer where she works, so the two can indulge their passion. Impressed, though
maybe a tad disappointed by Sol's stalwart and principled character, she is

XAVIER GONZALES: 32, lean, he is Sol's other older brother, a gay man and
professional dancer who left home to follow his dreams, leaving Sol to take care
of their intellectually challenged brother, Ocie. Though an accident, Xavier
still feels guilty for the fire that killed his parents, since it was he who had
brought home the illegal fireworks. Now back in town, he and Sol struggle to
mend old hurts, and Xavier is more than happy to lend a hand at the
rehabilitation home where Ocie will be dancing in the Christmas concert...LEAD

MR. H. (DANIEL HORTON): A middle aged, Caucasian man in khakis, a blue shirt and
tie, he is a contractor, an exacting man, Star's strict father and Sol's
demanding boss. He clearly thinks of Sol as a socially inappropriate choice for
his daughter, outraged when he finds they are an item. He gives Sol one more
chance, but quickly fires him when he finds the two together in the

KYLE: 27, any ethnicity, and flamboyant, he is the exercise/dance instructor at
the New Hope home for people with disabilities. Intuitive and sensitive, he
doesn't force Ocie to participate, but can see that Ocie has a natural gift when
it comes to movement. In fact, he's encouraging and supportive with all the

JUNIOR: In his mid 20s, a Chicano with a flair for baggy clothes, he is a
co-worker of Sol's at the construction site and a savvy investor. Playful,
good-natured, and a good friend, he likes to rib Sol about his on-going affair.

JUDGE MICHAEL D. CONNERS: 60, bald, he is a stern judge, known for adhering to
the letter of the law. Initially incensed by Ocie's outbursts, he is soon made
to realize that Ocie is intellectually challenged. He meets privately with Ocie
in chambers, charmed by the young man's passion, he agrees to attend Ocie's
dance recital at the home...LEAD (108)

MRS. TRUMAN: 52, overweight, seen in a summer dress, she is the warm, motherly,
good-hearted woman who runs the New Hope home for people with disabilities.
No-nonsense, salt-of-the-earth, upfront, with a non-judgmental fondness for all
in her care, she tells Sol that, "We like to think of ourselves as a place where
people can be nurtured into life." Undeterred by Ocie's tearful wailing, she
quickly takes command of the situation...LEAD (49)

MR. ANTONIO PULIDO: 36, Caucasian with short black hair, wearing a black
business suit, he is the public defender handling Ocie's case. Overworked and
bordering on incompetent, he hopes to get Ocie probation, but his hopes are
dashed when he learns that the case will go to trial and that Judge Conners is

CAROL: 65, slim, dressed in black, her hair up in a bun, she is a resident at
the New Hope home where she is learning to walk after hip replacement surgery.
Angry and embittered about her situation, given to petulance and accusatory
statements, she takes an immediate dislike to Ocie. However, later, Carol, a
former well-known ballerina, takes Ocie under her wing, teaching him posture and

STORY LINE: Detective Skevitch and Deckard get called to a horrific bloody
accident without a body to be found. The apparent missing persons belong to a
paranormal investigative group from the local college. The group recently played
a childhood game called "Bloody Mary" while investigating their last paranormal
location, a turn of the century factory known to be haunted. Now everyone but
two kids (Bobby and Chloe) from the group have gone missing leaving bloody
crimes scenes with no bodies, and two detectives with unanswered questions.
Nothing can be trusted as the detectives uncover evidence and witnesses that
defy logic and question the possibility of evil spirits.

DETECTIVE RYAN DECKARD: Male, 30s, Deckard is Skevitch's partner in the small
university town. Deckard is born and raised a local, and sees Skevitch as a
threat. His family values, and small town approach is a direct contrast to
Skevitch's worldly and big city thinking. Deckard moved through the ranks
quickly to make detective, it is evident in his aggressive personality. Although
never discussed, he wears his high school football ring with pride. The
university is the financial anchor for the small town, but Deckard despises its
existence. Years of feeling second best in his own town by the University's
student body has led him to pursue a civic job where his authority couldn't be
questioned. Married with two small kids, Deckard finds himself at odds with his

the supernatural. Recently Bobby has broken off a year long relationship with a
Brittney, a member of the paranormal group who still wants Bobby back. Bobby now

Brittney. Bobby finds himself a pawn to his own desires and emotions as the

bloody attack on the paranormal group and there for Chloe is also looked at as a

SYNOPSIS: Paul, and his girlfriend Linda, and John, and his wife Cindy, are best
friends who meet monthly for dinner parties, alternating between their two
homes. Living far away from and unable to get along with their relatives,
they've become like a family, relying on and supporting one another. Within this
close-knit friendship, they've come to identify with each other in the following
way: Paul is the responsible one, John the pessimist, Linda the cautious one,
and Cindy the one lacking self-respect. When Paul's father suddenly dies of a
heart attack, he questions the meaning of his life. He unexpectedly quits his
job as a corporate attorney, soul searches and undergoes a spiritual
transformation. Having now found true happiness and meaning in his life, Paul
sets out to convince his friends to embrace his New Age philosophy, which
results in growing conflicts within the group. Meanwhile, Linda and Paul have
ongoing conflicts over his refusal to return to work. Cindy and John have
ongoing conflicts as she tries to spice up their stagnant marriage. And Linda,
Cindy and John have growing conflicts with each other as they gradually become
more adventurous, self-respecting and hopeful, respectively, as a result of
Paul's influence. Finally, Paul's increasingly zealous preaching causes the
group to implode, forcing him to realize that you can't make people change.

Rehearsal Dates: 3 weekends in September. (12-13, 19-20, 26-27 - at least 4 of
these days). Please note rehearsals will be unpaid. Sorry folks! We need to work
on the camera angles for the dinner scenes and we are on a tight budget. We will

STORY LINE: When awkward TURNER FIBBS reluctantly accompanies his grandmother
BEATRICE FIBBS to a senior swing dance, he's confused and then delighted when
the room magically transforms into the stunning 1940s military dance hall of her
memories, complete with a full brass orchestra, World War II soldiers having a
grand time with their best gals on the night before shipping out, and of course,
fabulous swing dancing.

TURNER FIBBS: In his early to late 30s, scruffy, unkempt and a bit awkward
around women, he reluctantly accompanies his grandmother Beatrice to a swing
dance for seniors. Feeling like a fish out of water, he can't wait for the
moment when he can leave, and he makes a couple unkind, sarcastic remarks about
the elderly people surrounding him. Suddenly the room transforms into a grand
1940s military dance hall, complete with full brass band and an energetic dance
crowd. Turner finds himself holding a martini glass and dancing with a beautiful
woman. He's stiff and unsure at first, but eventually finds himself having the
time of his life, and understanding why his grandmother was so excited to
re-live the experience. LEAD (1)

BEATRICE FIBBS: Turner's grandmother, in her late 60s-80s, agile, sharp and a
terrific dancer, she's excited for her senior swing dancing event and has been
waiting a long time for it. She remembers how grand and special it was like in
the 1940s, when she used to wear a red dress and cut a rug. Unfortunately,
Turner is uncomfortable with dancing and doesn't provide much in the way of a
dance partner. But when he magically travels to the 1940s and gets to see what
swing dancing was like in its heyday, he returns to the present with a newfound
energy, as well as an appreciation for his grandmother and the dancing. LEAD (1)

Short Film intended as promo piece for RPOV, a production company based out of
LA - meant for submission to festivals.

While we hope to compensate talent fairly, because this project is a
micro-budget film with very limited financing in place, we'd like any
submissions to think of this film as a collaboration between the production
staff and the actors, with both sides benefitting from additional credits and an
improved portfolio.

While there will be a semi-nude scene, it will be of the PG variety - a shot of
a bare back, legs, etc..


SEEKING:

CLAIRE: Late 20's. Very attractive but still approachable. She should be able to
play a warm and sincere character, with a more than a hint of sadness. Should be
