"LIBERTY LANE"
Short Film
SAG AFI GRADUATE THESIS FILM
SAG and Non Union Actors may Apply
Director: Timo Becker
Writer: Michael McGuire
Shoots APRIL 21ST-28TH, AND JUNE 7TH, 2009
DEFERRED, $757/day, or $2634/week, COPY, MEALS, CREDIT

STORY LINE: "Liberty Lane" is the story of a twelve year-old boy who, in an
attempt to keep his childhood friends together, tells them a lie and incites a
conflict with two eighth grade boys. Their act of vandalism escalates into
violence, and forces Jeremy to reveal the truth to avert a life-threatening
situation.

The AFI Conservatory is one of the world's foremost educational institutions
teaching the art & craft of filmmaking. AFI thesis films have played every major
film festival and won every major award, and will be seen and/or guided by
award-winning faculty including producer Neil Canton (BACK TO THE FUTURE),
former Academy President Frank Pierson, and Stephen Lighthill, ASC. German
Fulbright Scholar Timo Becker to direct; Writer/Producer Michael M. McGuire made
two award-winning shorts in 2008.

All actors work under standard SAG Theatrical / Deferred Pay Contract regardless
of union affiliation. However, non-union actors cast in the film will not be
eligible to join SAG. Meals, mileage reimbursement, credit, and DVD copies are
provided to all cast members.

General Notes: Please note that we are looking for kids that are "real", meaning
you could actually find them on schoolyards or on the street. Edgy with all the
imperfections that the average teenager has to deal with. No "Disney kids". All
kids should be comfortable with getting dirty (hanging out in the woods).
Experiences of having gotten into fights are a plus.

SEEKING-

JEREMY: All-American twelve year old boy who is trying his best to keep his
friends (Mark and Tim) interested in their childhood fort that they built in the
woods three years ago. Not overtly athletic or handsome. Actor must handle lots
of dialogue and a wide emotional range. Caucasian (LEAD).

MARK: Athletic twelve year old boy who is on the verge of becoming a star
baseball player and getting the girl he wants. More appealing through his
strength than through his raw looks. Must be comfortable using adult language;
very physical role. Any ethnicity (LEAD).

TIM: Cool twelve year old kid who is becoming more involved with his girlfriend
than with hanging out with the guys; laid back but not afraid to fight. Carries
a knife, uses profanity. Caucasian (LEAD).

SEAN: A 14 year-old eighth grader with attitude; possibly a punk or goth (e.g.
Mexican metal-head)- the kind of kid moms don't necessarily want their sons to
hang out with, yet innocent at heart. Very physical role - athletics or martial
arts a plus. Any ethnicity (SUPPORTING).

ANDY: A fourteen year-old whose looks inspire rumors and intimidate younger
kids, but he just wants to have fun building a fort with his buddy. Very
physical role - athletics/martial arts and piercings/funky hair a plus. Any
ethnicity (SUPPORTING).
