STORYLINE: The Mourning After is a comedy about Jack Hinckler, an average high
school junior in search of love. When Butch, a fat dumb bully, jokes about
Jack's mom, Jack lies and says that his parents are dead to make Butch feel
guilty. This lie earns him the phone number of the beautiful and spontaneous Ann
Stevens, who overhears Jack's story and whose parents really are dead. As Jack
and Ann grow closer and she asks more questions about his past, Jack is forced
to go to extreme lengths to keep the lie alive . . . er, dead.


SEEKING-

JACK HINCKLER: The new kid in school, he's willing to cling to the first group
that sits next to him. Genuine and sweet, but still wants what every guy wants -
girls

ANN STEVENS: The popular girl who needs a change of scenery. She has matured
quicker than her counterparts.

BUTCH: Fat, dumb kid who thinks he's more popular than he is.

CHET: Butch's lackey #1

JOSIE: Queen of Ann's clique. All about the prom and everything pink

RITA: Josie's #1 fan/best friend

JOAN HINCKLER: Jack's mom. She's super into her son's education and slightly
over-protective.

HAROLD HINCKLER: Jack's dad, clueless. Filled with idiot wisdom

DAVID STEVENS: Ann's good-hearted father
