I am happy to introduce TWO exciting new features to the GINDIE.com featured
column lineup.

First up, an exciting new Q&A column called "Indie Musings" by Dan'l
Terry. This column will be exploring the big and little details that make huge
impacts on indie movie production. From when to budget for visual effects to
how format decisions affect crew size. Dan'l will be taking a top down approach
to decompose and explain what's at stake with those big and little details.

Dan'l's career can be summed up best
as a strategic multimedia creator. In Renaissance times, he'd have been called
an artist. His vast stage and screen experience dates back to the 60's and
trips though screenwriting, producer, director, production designer, visual
effects producer, 2nd unit director, actor, photographer, camera operator...and
the list goes on and on.

Now Dan'l Terry would like to share some his hard won knowledge with you!
This week Dan'l explores how the title of your film impacts everything from
getting noticed to box office potential. If you have a question for Indie
Musings, you can email Dan'l at indieMusings@....

Ok, the second column is something totally new for GINDIE.com. Cynthia Hand
Neely, will be writing a new monthly column covering the state of Texas called,
"State of
the Arts." Cynthia is a huge advocate for the Texas film and video industry and
the way
she spends her free time proves that she is the real deal!

She is a Houston-based writer/producer and the Southeast Texas
Representative on the board of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance
(http://www.txmpa.org).
If you don't know, that organization was the driving force behind getting the
new production incentives through the Texas Legislature! She's serving her 8th
year as president of
the Houston chapter of Women in Film &
Television and chairs the film department advisory committee for Houston
Community College.

I am incredibly proud to have Cynthia covering industry news around the
State of Texas
for GINDIE. This month, Cynthia takes a deeper look at what's happening in the
Houston film and video
industry. If you have an industry news tip, send it Cynthia at sota@....

If that wasn't enough then don't forget to check out our on-going featured
columns, Ask Donise and Intellectual Property.

Donise Hardy, member of Casting Society of America (CSA), is answering the
acting community's questions in a bimonthly column called "Ask Donise."
If you have an acting question, then Ask Donise at askDonise@....

This week's column answers the reader question, "Can you advise me on
the most professional way to end a relationship with a current agent?"

Deena Kalai, PLLC, is a working entertainment lawyer with offices in both New
York City and Austin.
She is answering the GINDE community's toughest legal questions. If you have a
legal question you can ask her at iprop@....

This week's column answers the readers question, "Are classical images such
as Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam" and Van Gogh's "Irises" protected by
copyright? "

Donise Hardy [askDonise@...]----------------------------------------

During her 16 years as a Casting Director, Donise Hardy has cast hundreds of
commercials, dozens of films and industrials and several TV series, helping to
create thousands of jobs for actors in the Austin
and Texas
markets.

After selling her Austin-based casting agency this year, she wants to share
her vast knowledge of the casting process with the GINDIE community of actors.

We are very excited to have Donise Hardy join us to make the
GINDIE community the most professional and well connected independent film
network in the world.

Deena Kalai [iprop@...]--------------------------------------------------

Deena is a highly qualified entertainment lawyer and
continues in the

tradition of superb quality resources that GINDIE is providing to the

indie film community. In addition to having law offices in both Austin, TX

and New York, NY, she also serves on the board of
directors for Reel Women.

Most recently, the Austin
community had the pleasure to hear her speak at

the Network Austin Mixer and everyone who was there can attest that she

has a keen ability to translate legalise in a way that is both

understandable and empowering. If you want to read even more about Deena

please visit my blog for my interview with her about why entertainment

lawyer matter to indie filmmakers. And you can visit her GINDIE profile

for more information about her legal services. Just type Deena in the

GINDIE search.

Dan'l Terry [indieMusings@...]-----------------------------------------

Dan'l's career can be summed up best as a strategic
multimedia creator. In Renaissance times, he'd have been called an artist.
Holding multiple degrees and 1st place national awards in three different
career areas (as professor, animator, and fine artist) Dan'l (dân-uhl) now
turns his multiple talents to helping independent movie producers see the big
picture without losing site of the details. His vast stage and screen
experience dates back to the 60's and trips though screenwriting, producer,
director, production designer, visual effects producer, 2nd unit director,
actor, photographer, camera operator...and the list goes on and on. Now Dan'l
Terry would like to share some his hard won knowledge with you. If you have a
question about how a certain decision will affect your production this is the
guy to ask, whether it's HD vs Film or how a movie title could affect your
chances at distribution, give Dan'l a shout and let him give you his Indie
Musings.

Cynthia Hand Neely [sota@...]------------------------------------------

Cynthia Neely is a Houston-based writer/producer and the
Southeast Texas Representative on the board of the Texas Motion Picture
Alliance. She's serving her 8th year as president of the Houston chapter of
Women in Film &
Television and chairs the film department advisory committee for HCC. But more
than anything, she's an advocate for the Texas
film and video industry and believes the great state of Texas has great things
in store.
