I am happy to introduce TWO exciting new features to the GINDIE.com featured
column lineup.
First up, an exciting new Q&A column called "Indie Musings" by Dan'l
Terry. This column will be exploring the big and little details that make huge
impacts on indie movie production. From when to budget for visual effects to
how format decisions affect crew size. Dan'l will be taking a top down approach
to decompose and explain what's at stake with those big and little details.
Dan'l's career can be summed up best
as a strategic multimedia creator. In Renaissance times, he'd have been called
an artist. His vast stage and screen experience dates back to the 60's and
trips though screenwriting, producer, director, production designer, visual
effects producer, 2nd unit director, actor, photographer, camera operator...and
the list goes on and on.
Now Dan'l Terry would like to share some his hard won knowledge with you!
This week Dan'l explores how the title of your film impacts everything from
getting noticed to box office potential. If you have a question for Indie
Musings, you can email Dan'l at
indieMusings@....
Ok, the second column is something totally new for GINDIE.com. Cynthia Hand
Neely, will be writing a new monthly column covering the state of Texas called,
"State of
the Arts." Cynthia is a huge advocate for the Texas film and video industry and
the way
she spends her free time proves that she is the real deal!
She is a Houston-based writer/producer and the Southeast Texas
Representative on the board of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance
(
http://www.txmpa.org).
If you don't know, that organization was the driving force behind getting the
new production incentives through the Texas Legislature! She's serving her 8th
year as president of
the Houston chapter of Women in Film &
Television and chairs the film department advisory committee for Houston
Community College.
I am incredibly proud to have Cynthia covering industry news around the
State of Texas
for GINDIE. This month, Cynthia takes a deeper look at what's happening in the
Houston film and video
industry. If you have an industry news tip, send it Cynthia at
sota@....
