I agree - last night's episode was excellent and Kim's
performance was really powerful. It's so great to see Diane/Kim
back.
I liked Amanda's analysis of why Diane fell off the wagon too -
being totally alone. I just wish it wasn't the case! In "Yo Adrianne"
she appeared to be more content with her life.
(BTW, was Diane supposed to have been really drunk when she
showed up at the bar? I thought she (Diane) was acting, but
would be interested in what others thought.)
A couple of minor points. I thought that Diane's doctor's visit was
a little too conveniently timed. I understand that it may be
dramatically justifiable, but just seems like too big of a
coincidence – she just happens to work with the 15th for the first
time in several years and have her doctor's appointment at the
same day! Diane could've just as easily had the appointment on
some prior day and now maybe anxiously waiting for the test
results.
I understand what they were going for when they had Diane
being really closed-off from the very beginning of the episode,
but I wish there was a little more of her reaction to being back in
the squad for the first time in years – even a couple of
apprehensive glances or maybe a very brief personal exchange
with some of the old crew. As it was done, it was kind of hard to
relate to her – especially before we got the medical news.
Anyways, I am really looking forward to the next 3 episodes.
It's nice to see something posted on this board again!
