I assure you that Kate is not alone, and knows exactly where she want to go in life.

No I don't see it that way..To me it felt like she doesn't like to
swear but does it just to say "see I can do it too, so there!". It
doesn't show that she departed from what she is. And I've never
imagined her as "posh and upper class" either....She is quite the
opposite of that I think, if she's anything like the characters she
played. Normal, "real", unpretensious, noble in spirit, but not a
snob. A saint, but a warm-blooded one.She is too good for the rest of
the world she lives in, she does not fit in.No I don't think this
movie is the turning point of anything, it is striking but doesn't
make me think or feel different of Kate.Thinking of her makes me
really really sad for some reason, may be because I see her youth is
passing by and she's still alone, and I don't know where can she go
with her life in this world, and I can do nothing.
