Kate Bell grew up in Hong Kong and Armidale,studied drama and journalism at Wollongong University had several theatre roles and played Susie in Home and Away.

"On the ABC TV series, Blue Water High 21 year old,Kate says "We've had plenty of wipe-outs," "We've a couple of injuries and been tossed around a bit. It was a little confronting at first to be working in the water."

Kate plays Rachel Barber in "How to Change in 9 Weeks" due for release in 2009 and is currently in Home and Away as Joey a deckhand with show principal, Todd Lasance

One of Home and Away's most controversial storylines is the Joey and Charlie relationship .

Kate has also starred in "Baz Luhrmann's "M" released 2006, ( a contemporary retelling of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" set in the ganglands of Melbourne ),starring Sam Worthington ,Mick Molloy ,Matt Doran and Chloe Armstrong
