Hi, Y'all...
Well ...I started a Turner Classic Movie Yahoo-Moviegroup group< at [ http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/TurnerClassicMovies/ ] to discuss movies, seeing as I'm a moviemaker & first and formost a movie lover. This is an offshoot of when I used to recommend movies online for us all to watch....but, as everyone has an expensive 'home entertainment unit' [not t.v. anymore..just as 'garbage trucks' have become 'solid waste removal vehicles'], we as a shrinking filmgoing community ,
[
mostly economic reason$] has now been regulated to having to stay home and watch t.v. or the home computer, or both.
I find this a sad affair...as watching movies has always been about community...
Well I'd say we are all a communtiy here....In this group...I've noticed we have a lot of moviemakers and movielovers also.
So, in my own way...I'm going to discuss a lot of the movies that inspire my movies and why[ I hope you all can do the same in the above mentioned yahoogroup, as this is an abridged version of what you're gonna git there
].
F'rinstance my movies are a hybrid of Classic & Underground Movies....I don't know why but, cookie-cutter 'maistream' movies leave me cold..notice a lot of 'modern' actors/actresses/CELEBS[?] pimping fashion accessories?..Wanna know why?...Well most movies today SUCK!
So they are looking for other areas to support their celebrity [besides making 'sex tapes' of course
].
Now about why my TCM pick todays is: PSYCHO [1960]
...EVEN for those who hate B&W MOVIES..WATCH THIS ONE!...you'll be abeliver!!
