The best new film is THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. It may have
the most appealing special effects of their type. The story holds
true to the book and the director went to great lengths to keep
christian messages softened. This film is GREAT FOR PEOPLE OF ALL
AGES who love FANTASY AND GRAND BATTLE. Most every reviewer loved it.
A very well reviewed film, like Traffic in style, SYRIANA has a
complex plot, lots of characters, and international/corporate
intrigue. The story, based on oil, profit, and terrorism, borders on
documentary. IT IS NOT FILLED WITH ACTION AND LOVABLE CHARACTERS but
it does have a message that many may find interesting, and a story
that portrays all the players in world oil.
In a week GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK will be leaving the theaters. If
you haven't seen it you are missing A SUPERB PERFORMANCE BY CLOONEY
AND A WILDLY WELL REVIEWED FILM. The story of the toppling of the
McCarthy era by one man is RIVETING.
You can still catch A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE at second run theaters for
cheap. If you've seen an ad for this film IT'S NOT THE FILM YOU THINK
IT IS. It's a story about violence, and this topic is thoroughly
explored.
MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA is a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The wildly popular book
was hollywoodized to the point that critics have called it DUMBED DOWN
TO THE POINT OF BEING A CIRCUS of fancy dress and dance with a
hackneyed plot that is paper-thin. STEER CLEAR of this film no matter
how alluring the trailers and book may be.
