Re: Legends 2006
Hi Patti; No, I don't think they are prepared to think about
changing the venue. Things are SO much worse in England when it
comes to accessibility than in America or Canada.
But hey, I'm looking forwards to WiS as I know that will be simply
fantastic, and Chris, bless her, does a fantastic job - and I'm
looking forwards to seeing you and all my other American and
Canadian friends there. :)
Hi Moni, I know what you mean about give and take and working
together - I go to the Eurovision every year and not to the most
accessible countries either, like Estonia, for example - and I know
people, other fans are usually great at helping out. That has been
my experience at Eurovision, with other fans from all other nations.
And I'm not touchy at all about being helped. :)
But what I was more saying that it is the organisers of Legend here -
they have a responsibility to ensure the venue is acessible to fans
of ALL abilities. And not just me, but any other wheelchair user who
would like to attend the event.
And they should be sorting that end of it - especially as new laws
regarding access were passed here in Britain in October.
As for the other hotels up around that area, believe me, I know none
of them are manageable in my situation.
Thanks for all your support, because it does show me that people do
care about issues like this, and that does give me hope that things
can be changed for the better. I spoke out this time because I felt
it was unjust, and even if a few people listen and show some
support, as you have all done, it's a start to change things for the
better. :)
Now onto happier subjects - for those of you who don't know me, I've
uploaded a photo of me and Jason to the photo page on this group. :)
So you can go and take a look if you wish. :)
Anyone else on here apart from me and Patti going to Weekend in
Sherwood?
Nikke.
