I have only seen this film once, on the big screen at London's NFT during a
medieval season (a passion of mine). I went, of course, because the director was
Chris Newby, who made 'Madagascar Skin' with John and which, in my opinion, is
one of his greatest pieces of work. And I was just stunned, moved and knocked
out by 'Anchoress'. (I wrote about it in JHAC at the time if you're interested).

I am completely astonished to find it released on DVD, and thrilled!

Last word to John, who described Chris Newby as a 'genius'. Damn right, John.
