This reminds me of the Film-Noir classic "Out of the Past" when Robert Mitchum
walks away from the Jane Greer's house the first time. He's puzzled and doesn't
know exactly what she wants.
Bob Mitchum was also a very underrated actor

The photo is reminding me a little of James Dean, though I know that's the
1950's and not the 40's. Something about that far-off dreamy look. My favorite
40's movie star is Humphrey Bogart. Doubt that's it. Gary Cooper?
