CALL FOR ENTRIES
EXPERIMENTA 2005 The 3rd international festival for
experimental film in India
FILTER is currently seeking experimental films for
exhibition at EXPERIMENTA February 2005 to be held in
Bombay, India.
Medium specific experimentation in documentary,
non-fiction, diary and animation genres are welcome
for selection to both the Film and Digital Video
categories. Innovative, cutting edge and
non-traditional work is encouraged.
EXPERIMENTA is a curated film festival and is a
collaborative effort of Filter, no.w.here UK, British
Council India UK, and the LUX Centre for Artists’ film
and video UK.

Entry Regulations:
Final deadline for receipt of all submissions is
December 1st, 2004
All submissions in languages other than English must
be subtitled in English - only if language is central
to the film’s content
All preview tapes will be added to the festival’s
archives unless accompanied by a self-addressed
stamped envelope and a request for return
If submitting more than one entry, please make a copy
of the entry form for each submission
Please ensure that the following enclosures are sent
to the festival:
- Preview copy
- Completed entry form (please refer below for
specific entry guidelines to the Film and Video
Categories)
- Note on Filmmaker/Artist
The festival reserves the right to excerpt programmed
works for television and other promotional purposes
Final selections will be made in January 2005

Guidelines for FILM Category:
Please note that the Film category will include films
that are essentially experimental in both form and
content and will be reviewed primarily for their
attempt to aesthetically extend the parameters of the
film medium
The final exhibition formats are 16mm and 35mm only
For preview purposes film submissions may be made on
Mini-DV, VHS (NTSC/PAL) or DVD only. Please do NOT
send film prints. The master film print will be
requested for exhibition only after final selection
Label preview copy with your name, address, phone
number, email address, title of work, date of
completion, projection speed, whether sound or silent,
cueing instructions and duration
Films completed in any year up to December 1st, 2004
are admissible

Guidelines for DIGITAL VIDEO Category:
Please note that the Digital Video category will
include works that are essentially experimental in
both form and content and will be reviewed primarily
for their attempt to aesthetically extend the
parameters of digital video
Works selected for the Digital video category will be
exhibited within the set-up of a Videoteque and will
be freely available for personalised viewing
throughout the duration of the festival
The final exhibition format is DVD only
For preview purposes video submissions may be made on
Mini-DV, VHS (NTSC/PAL) or DVD only
Label preview copy with your name, address, phone
number, email address, title of work, date of
completion, whether sound or silent, and duration
Please note that this category is open to filmmakers
from India only
Films completed between the year 2000 and up to
December 1st, 2004 are admissible
