Re: [ISC_ML] PD 170/ AG- DVX 100

Mike

heres the serial number after which teh problem has
been rectified

1213500

some more thoughts on the PD170
it has a 1 lux light sensitivity which is more than
the dvx100, which helps in low light situations
the dvx1oo is not as well balanced and is a bit front
heavy
the pd170 has a dvcam mode the dvx1oo does not
for TV acquisition shooting interlaced is better so
the 24p mode does not help you
make sure the dvx1oo u get has a firewire coz its an
optional not all dvx100's have them
the dvx100 has a lower s/n ratio

it sounds like im for pd170
not really
not till i have tested it
the dvx100 is said to have better image quality.
both cameras have their pros and cons and their die
hard fans
so test both side by side and decide
thats the best way i think

manu"test test test" anand

Dear Mike It all depends what your looking for in a camera. If you might use the MiniDV cam to output on film, then the 24p mode on teh DVX100 is helpful. ...
