Hi everyone,
I'm writing my doctoral dissertation about fictional depictions of amateur
musicians in film and one of my chapters is on ISHTAR.
If anyone feels moved to do so, I'd love to get some thoughts.
Here are a few simple questions. You can respond to the whole group or just
forward me the answers at cccooollliiinnn@... or colinhelb@....
Thanks,
Colin
THE QUESTIONS:
1. When and how did you come across the film? Where you a fan as a child?
2. Are you a musician or songwriter?
3. Have you ever had contact with Elaine May, Beatty, Hoffman, Grodin, or Paul
Williams?
4. Why do you believe the film is an important film?
5. Is the film good?
6. Why was the film so maligned?
7. Do you have a copy of it (on VHS, taped off TV, or a Region 2 DVD)?
8. Favorite song? Why?
9. Have you seen Mikey and Nicky, A New Leaf, or The Heartbreak Kid? Thoughts on
those films?
10. In your opinion, why is the film STILL unavailable on a Region 1 DVD?
Thanks again!
