There is one more film idea I feel motivated to do before I go quietly, and that
is an educational historical documentary short about the type of public
relations which has been used for jump-starting all the modern democratic
international wars in the past hundred years.
I would like to stage historical scenes, but do not know funding sources for a
project that could be perhaps helpful to peace but not necessarily profitable.
I have been thinking I might learn simple animation as a way to get around the
cost. The film would focus on ideas, not landscape. But my friend Dan, who just
retired as head of animation at UCLA and is writing a book about the subject,
advises me there are no simple animation programs.
My thought now is historical stills and stock footage visuals with voice-overs
by actors in brief dramatic readings from events in the setups for each of the
wars.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Such a project in such a
market is not likely to look profitable to any potential investors, and I do not
have any money at preseent, so I would appreciate any free or low cost sources
for stock footage or relevant film. There are free stills on the Library of
Congress website but not video.
I already have a DVD of the GEIWITZ CASE about the pretext created by the Nazi
government to start World War Two. The other large international wars of this
past hundred years with their bogus provocations include the Korean War and
border incidents, Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin, and the Iraq War and Weapons
of Mass Destruction. I have written material but have not seen film material
covering those alleged provocations.
The First World War was started at the order of the Emperor of Austria at his
discretion, as he was an absolute ruler. The other wars on the list were in
varying degrees, all initiated on bogus claims of provocation, first and
foremost for domestic consumption.
North Korean claims to be a People's government and is very focused on
population thought control. U.S. war Presidents Truman and Johnson and Prime
Minister Hitler were all elected.
When Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels was asked at the Nuremburg Trials
how the Nazis controlled their people, he replied "by making them afraid." Fear
will produce anger.
Peace and joy,
Alan G.
