Hey everybody,

I'm new around here. I'm a filmmaker living in Los Angeles (from St. Louis). I just recently started pre-production for a short film called "The Whiskey Priest". Not based on the book, but it is heavily influenced by Graham Greene's masterpiece "The Power and the Glory". The film is more or less a 1930's period piece set in South Texas near the border of Mexico and it's during a period when the Mexicans were persecuting the priests. This is the story of the last priest in Texas, who is a drunk, and is tired of running and hiding from the authorities. I personally feel like the main themes of the story are redemption and to show that nobody is perfect - not even priests. But we all can receive forgiveness.

Anyway, I'm not trying to spam the group or anything, but I would love to make this film and I figured this might be a good place to look for support. I'm attaching a link to my IndieGoGo page where you can learn more about the project. If you go to the site you can watch videos about it (that i'm always updating), endorse the project (if you do that you will join the e-mail list), forward it to friends, and be a part of a cool project. I'm not asking for donations - although that would be helpful - but just support for the film. If you do choose to donate, you can get your name in the credits, receive a DVD copy, etc..
