FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW YEAR!
	 Where: Young 198
	 When:  Thursday 8:30pm
	 What:  Its the first meeting of the new year! A time
for us to exchange summer stories and get back into
the feel of things.  Looking forward to seeing all of
you there!

ACTIVITIES FAIR
October 18th, 2006
	 We will be tabling at the activities fair the weds
after this next meeting.  The fair is from 10am to
2pm. We would love for you all to stop by the table
help us recruit new members to expand our filmmakers'
network!

INFORMATIONAL MEETING
October 19th, 2006 -- 8:30pm
	 The week of this meeting will be an informational
meeting.  We will be watching some of FAs movies made
in the past.  We will have snacks and be talking about
a lot of events in the future.  And while it says
informational meeting, we would still encourage you
all to attend.  We wills till be doing a lot that you
will be missing out on.

EDITING & FILMING FOR FESTIVALS
	 We are looking for people to edit and film intro
scenes for Film Festivals.  These festivals will be
including the FA Showcases, and helping out with
Robotmedia.   If you are at all interested in any of
this, Contact Andrew Cholerton at 530-219-9238 or at

15th, and 21st and 22nd.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

We are looking to get help in some specific areas of
film making, namely DP, camera person, 1st AD, 2nd Ad,
lighting person, sound technicians, make up etc.
A "small daily stipend" will be offered if requested,
meals on set and a release copy of the film upon
completion will be given to each individual with
credit of their name on the screen.
This is a very small budget( shoe string) feature film
Indian/ American movie to be shot in and around the
Sacramento, Folsom, Orangevale, Santa Cruz, San
Francisco etc. The shoot schedule will be around the
15th of Oct 2006 and 15th of Nov 2006. Please write to

Come early for FREE PIE and free performances by rock band TSBB (myspace.com/tsbb).

PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT FILMS FOR THE FESTIVAL
Please submit your films to Matt at FA@fafilms or (preferrably) mattbrewbaker@... and 530-902-7134. Films must be under 20 minutes and be the first time showed on a UCD big screen (all films accepted). Best format to submit your film in is mini DV. To pay for pie (which we are handing out to your audience for free) we are asking $1 per minute of film submitted. (Please give in cash or check to Matt when you give him your DV tapes)

Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 15th (Dead Day)
6pm-8pm at the MU Games Area (Billiards room)
Come join fellow filmmakers for a relaxing time before the finals rush - play pool and chat. Only $3 for the two hours if you want to play.

MEETINGS NEXT QUARTER
Meetings will be on Wednesday at 8:30pm in Young 198 Spring Quarter.

FA INVITATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Saturday, April 8th

FA INVITATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Saturday, April 8th

6pm-8pm in Sciences Lecture Hall 123

Make a film and submit it! Only 1 dollar per minute of submition. (5 minutes = 5 bucks, etc.) All moneys collected will go into buying PIE to give out during the festival. Films must be under 20 minutes and must be UCD premiere on the big screen.

WANNA BE A ZOMBIE?

Okay, here's my personal plug - haha. If you would like to get dressed up and put on make-up and blood for a whole night and relive your 'good-costume' holloween days. "Lost in Zombieville", a 16mm festival piece, is looking for anyone with the patience to be in full make-up for 10 hours just so that they can tell their friends "Hey, I was in this zombie film once..."

GREEN SCREEN USAGE FOR FA MEMBERS

We have a green screen! - 10' by 15' cloth. FA members are entitled to use it for their films. Please talk to one of the officers after a meeting, or email Andrew at andrew@... to arrange a time to borrow it.

FA REQUIREMENTS TO BE A MEMBER

At the beginning of the quarter and at the end, we remind our members what it takes to be one. There are two easy requirements: (1) Attend at least one meeting in the quarter and (2) Be involved in the making of ANY film. Young 198 shorts COUNT toward the second requirement and also by default, the first - so show up Thursday.

We will also continue our in-meeting "Young-198" classroom short screenplay, watch a famous short film, and hear more with "Film Fest of the Week".

WANT TO BE AN OFFICER?
Lacy will be studying abroad in Cuba which means we are currently accepting self-nominations for officers of the club. The officer must be available to go to all general FA meetings and Officer meetings (both of which are only once a week). Being in the FA Office is LONG-TERM - this means self-nominating officers must be available next year (sorry, no last-year students!). If you would like to nominate yourself (we are only taking self-nominations), please email FA@... if you can't tell us in person, or talk to us at the meeting TONIGHT! We'll accept nominations until this 12 noon this Wednesday.
