FILMMAKERS' AMBITIONS MEETING
Date: EVERY Wednesday (Fall/Win/Spring quarters)
Time: 8:30pm
Location: Young 198 on UCD Campus
Show up Wednesday, May 19th - the topic will be:
"Lighting"
We will also be showing "The Messenger: Chaos and
Redemption" by Carlos Montoya

GUEST SPEAKER ON JUNE 2ND
Come to the Filmmakers' Ambitions meeting on June 2nd
and come prepared with questions. Professor/Filmmaker
Sarah Pia Anderson will hold a Q&A for the club.
Professor Anderson's television work in Los Angeles
includes episodes of ER, NOTHING SACRED (Peabody Award
for series; Prism Award for Directing), PROFILER, DARK
ANGEL, GILMORE GIRLS, THE DISTRICT, STRONG MEDICINE,
THE DIVISION and ALLY MCBEAL. To help you prepare for

"YOUNG 198" the Series
Want a chance to write and direct a film? Once every
month or so, after the meetings (normally when people
hang out and talk) a member will have the chance to
come up with a script and film it within a one hour
time block after the meeting. The requirements for
the script are 1. that it be short (at least filmable
within the time constraints) 2. that they must use
EVERYBODY who sticks around as extras (unless they're
part of the crew). 3. That the film take place ONLY
in YOUNG 198 --- this will form a series of fun FA
short shorts called "Young 198".

ROBOT MEDIA
Date: Saturday, May 29, 2004
Time: 8:00 PM
Location: Chem 194 on UCD Campus
Submitions for short films under 5 minutes (topic =
"going away" and "revenge") are due the week before

THEATRE/DANCE STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL
Submitions are due on May 21st (festival will be June
1st) Accepting anything under 20 minutes. Email
jmdixon@... for more info. Turn DV tapes into
Room 222 in Wright Hall.

BILLIARDS NIGHT
Watch "Color of Money" by Scorcese and then play
billiards afterward. Date to happen is still in
question.

GREEN SCREEN ROOM
We recently obtained a bank account with SPAC, so the
money from the Rec Hall Cleanup should come soon.
Hopefully we'll have the amount by this coming
meeting. The money will be used to purchase chroma
green paint as well as a few blue fabric screens.
