Bulldog Productions, Yale’s independent film production company, is
seeking short scripts in all genres for its 2005 Screenwriting
Competition.
The screenwriting contest is designed to give undiscovered
scriptwriters exposure and a chance to have their work produced on a
professional level. Towards this goal, the 1st place script will be
produced on film by Bulldog Productions in spring 2006. The Finalists’
scripts will be workshopped and receive Staged Readings at Bulldog
Productions’ Close-Up Film Conference, the daylong filmmaking and
screenwriting workshop to be held January 2006. Subsequently, the
names and loglines of the winning scripts will be posted on the
website and released to major producers and agencies in Hollywood.
Scripts will be judged by a jury of distinguished panel of industry
professionals, educators, and film enthusiasts. Screenplays are
evaluated based on the following criteria: story, dialogue, character,
and structure.
The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2005. Winners will be
announced by November 15, 2005.
