Hi all,

Don't know which folks care about this, but I just watched the preview for
next week's Xena, and I think that Alex Mendoza has a prime role in the
episode. It was just a split second glance, but I believe that it's Mendoza
playing Lucifer. Looks like Lucifer might get some juicy action with Xena
too. Anyone else see this preview?

No, but I went to check the official site
http://www.studiosusa.com/xena/cgi-bin/showhb.cgi?s6e3.html and they do
have Heart of Darkness listed with guest stars but Lucifer isn't in it,
despite being mentioned in the description, argh!
http://www.studiosusa.com/xena/cgi-bin/showhb.cgi?s6e3.html And from the
pics I couldn't tell - if they added some makeup to his face it could be
him, though?

Yup, it's him. I read in TV Guide's Fall Preview that he would guest starring
as Lucifer in Xena sometime this year. I did actually post that info a while
back.

LOL! Recorded it last time when it was on TV here (dubbed, of course *sigh*)

It's actually a pretty good action movie, if you like them. I thought Bruce
Willis did a great job as the bad guy.

>Well he does look nicer with his Matheson haircut.

I just had to laugh when Gere's character needs a gun, and he turns to DDK
and DDK holds out this mongo gun. I expected him to say, ala Crocodile
Dundee, "That's not a gun. This is a gun!" *chuckle*

I have, but of course I didn't notice DDK at the time. I think I must have
had my eyes on another actor. ;) What part does DDK have?

He's the main character's first-antagonist-then-turned-friend at the Shaolin
monastery. He was a bit rounder in the face than in Crusade IMO but God that

Thanks for the pics! He does look like he's got a little more baby fat in
his face. And I must say, I do prefer him with hair! *g*

My favorite of the pics is probably the one where he's mid-strike-exercise.
That's the future Matheson. :>

Oops. *g* Ah yes that's from the fight at the end, with the bad boy. *g*

> That look is Matheson. *g*

Oh yes! *g* You know I'd really like to know what Matheson was like in
Psi Corps - you don't get that much from the scenes in POS. What duties
would a P6 (?) be given? No ideas whatsoever since I'm not very familiar
with the B5 universe, having seen only a handful of episodes. From what
little I did see and read I have that image of the cool, aloof,
dominating Corps members - or is that only right for the Cops - but he
didn't seem like that with Bruder. In any case he seems to be very good
at hiding things even from P12s, since no one ever found out about his
involvement with the destruction of the base.

OK, I have not seen American Shaolin, and have not been able to see this
pics sent to the list, since the digest version filters out attachments.
So, would some kind soul send them directly to kailin@...? Thanks.
BTW, unless Daniel has kept up with his Tae Kwon Do training, I am now a

Thanks for sending them to me, and yes, put them in the shared files
section of the list, so everyone can enjoy them at their leisure.

Yes, I say only, because I just took my 3rd degree black belt test last
Thursday. I expect to get my new belt in the next week or two, so that
will be way cool. I had asked Daniel at Valley Forge last year how much
he had studied, and so that's how I know he was a second degree then.
Not knowing if he has continued to study, I have no idea if he has
changed his status. I can tell you that a 2nd degree black belt would
take a bare minumum of 4 years, and is probably closer to 6 years, to
achieve, so that's why his form looks so good in that film, or at least,
in the pictures it appears his form looks good. I am going to have to go
track down this film now.

You'll get some nice scenes with him. The movie itself is quite good fun,
though IMO not above average for that kind of movie.

Hi Chris,

Never been able to resist a research project *g*

I spent a while looking, didn't find out DDK's agency -- I have a feeling
that's pretty closely guarded info. The Screen Actor's Guild will only give
that info to Producers.

But I did find this interview from July 99. You've probably all seen it,
but I figure I might as well post it:
http://www.visi.com/~wildfoto/interview5.html

Here's the TNT interview, though I know everyone has seen that:
http://tnt.turner.com/crusade/news_intv_matheson.html

It was interesting finding out about DDK's roles on Voyager, Beverly Hills
90210, Seinfield, Law & Order, etc.

Hey, did you know that there's an "American Shaolin 2" where DDK plays the
same character again?

That episode of Voyager is supposed to be on German TV around the end of
this/beginning of next year. Dubbed, of course. *sigh*

I saw that movie called: American Shaolin: King of the Kickboxers II at
IMDB, but from the summary got the impression that it was the same movie!
Maybe it's a re-release. *shrugs* Oh rats before my computer crashed I'd had
an American Shaolin page of the production company (or something similar)
bookmarked... guess I should go looking again!

LOL! It's based on the book of the same name by Aldous Huxley. From the tape's sleeve:
Imagine a world without crime, war or disease, where poverty and suffering no longer exists and happiness is the right of all. Yet this is a world wehre love is a thing of the past and the price of stability is total mind control Constant propaganda and the enforced use of Soma, the ultimate feelgood drug, has reduced mankind to a machinelike slavery in which individuality is a crime against society and mindless pleasure seeking has replaced all human emotions. There are a few, however, who begin to subconciously rebel against their empty lives, and when Bernard Marx (Peter Gallagher), a young conditioning executive, brings John Cooper, a so-called Savage from beyaond the borders of civilisation into this Brave New World, the results are devastating...

Well DDK also is one of the conditioning executives, and this sign was a kind of practical joke at a meeting about how to improve conditioning of the deltas - the ones who do the lowest work. *g*
