Like I said Raine, I've lived in Gary 59 years and I'm still alive, so I must be
doing something right, and since it works I'll stick with it. But thanks for the
suggestions. The good ones I've already used.
The local cemetary is filled with activists who started a citizen's watch group.
They were heros in the community, neighbors said nice things about them as the
Coroner took their bullet-ridden body into the ambulence, the newspaper wrote a
nice tribute to their memory ... but bottom line is they are dead and the
gangbangers responsible are probably still selling dope and living life on the
edge.
It's a vicious cycle and best to avoid at all costs.
If I could move I would have been gone years ago.
But it is great to know Gary moved down the list to #13. I always thoght it was
unfair the way they tabulated the murder rate - per capita - so it seemed like
each time our census showed less people living in Gary they changed the per
capita figure lower so Gary would still be at the top of the rankings. Per
capita means how many people killed in a population of 1000,000 people (or
what-ever number they choose to base their figure on).
Residents have been constantly moving out in droves so the amount of actual
people is decreasing, so mabye we have a population so low that we don't have a
high enough per capita population to make the list.
It always seemed like more people were being killed each night in Chicago or New
Orleans than in Gary. But because of that damned rating system it kept us locked
into the Murder Capital stigma for many many many years.
But if what you say is true and we've dropped down it sure is surprising since
every day the Crime Blotter in our daily newpaper seems to have more and more
violent crimes reported.

evening. Today we watched Sabertooth,I had prerecorded it earlier. It was pretty

comidies as well. I am watching comidies as well, it is a nice change of pace.I
think I am going to pull out my VHS copy of Francis In A Haunted House and am

We watched both Love At First Bite And Young Frankenstien.I throughly enjoyed
both these films. Richard Benjamin was great he had me cracking up, And George
Harrison was great as Dracula,so sauve so charming.We found the movie to be
really good and it came right on time,I ordered it from Amazon on Wed and got it
on Sat. Talk about luck. I would give this a B# for allround entertainment and
comedic value.
