The season is great. And I love the scripts that give the established
characters a chance to go off on a tangent---to show character elements
they don't normally get to. Ziva's sudden and deep attraction to the
poisoned runner let her show a side that usually stays pretty well
hidden when she's on the job. It was very touching to see her
wrestling with the probability that this guy, who was so right for her
in so many ways, might not live long enough for a first date. And her
obvious sadness and anxiety led Tony to treat her more tenderly than
usual, deepening their relationship as well. It was just lovely to see
Cote live all this out.

Really sometimes I feel like I'm sitting down for an hour with family
and friends when 8:00 pm Tuesday rolls around. Everybody seems to have
such great chemistry with each other. Yet it doesn't detract from the
seriousness of the show and the threat levels the characters have to
cope with all the time. Bravo!
