Sher Haas has recently sent and email to inform me that she must graciously
decline the second place award for Best New Author. Sher began writing well
before the June 1, 1998 deadline, and I admit that I did not check the date of
her first published work. I assumed that as she was nominated for Best New
Author, she qualified for the position. The mistake is mine, not Sher's, and I
applaud her honesty and integrity in pointing this error out to me. The new
standings for Best New Author are as follows:

1ST PLACE: Victoria West (73 votes)
2ND PLACE: Anna McLain (33 votes)
3RD PLACE: Carole Seegraves (13 votes)

Again, my apologies for this mistake. I will remedy the situation on the web
page as soon as possible, but a thunder storm requires me to shut down my PC at
the moment.
