Fellow Duesers...

Great news!

***We are delighted to announce that both Dean McDermott and Tony Craig have now
officially confirmed (subject to work commitments) that they will be attending
RivCon on the 26th-28th May, 2000 at the Novotel in Preston. We look forward to
welcoming them at the convention.***

Places are still open, so anyone wishing to meet these gentlemen in person
should contact us *now*. Remember you can pay by Visa/Mastercard as well as
personal cheque and with time now short, this could be the easiest way to ensure
attendance. Requests for registration may be sent by email to:

rivcon@...

or by standard post to:

In other news, several more items have now been added to our Auction list which
includes some rare and unusual pieces. Items of particular interest range from
a Paul Gross autographed copy of the original Canadian CD of Two Houses (which
does not mention Due South), through three of the now rare Boxtree
novelisations, the copy of All the Queen's Horses having been signed by Leslie
Nielsen (possibly the only such copy in the world!) to an *exclusive*
one-of-a-kind audio tape from Gordon Pinsent specially recorded for RivCon.
Other autographed items on offer include a Loreena McKennitt CD, photos of David
Marciano, Kaye (Ma Vecchio) Ballard, Leslie Nielsen and Joel (bad guy Charlie
Wong) de la Fuente, TV Zone magazines and of course, a couple of Paul Gross
signed third season prop ducks. We also have a copy of the recent issue of
Toronto Life which has been creating quite a stir since it came out and which is
quite difficult to obtain from this side of the Atlantic. Further goodies are
expected to arrive in the next two weeks.

As well as these highlights, we have put together some nice pocket money pieces
so everyone can go home happy. To bid in the auction, you will need to be
registered as an attending or non-attending member of the convention, so don't
delay. Check out our website for further details at:

website: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Quark/2321/

A full list of items recdived so far will be posted on the lists next week. We
will also be posting our video programme and events schedule once these are
finalised. Rest assured we are planning meal and restroom breaks! Which should
please the regular convention goers among you. <vbg>

Lastly, don't forget our raffle in aid of the Canadian Cancer Society. As
announced previously this is being run in memory of fellow Dueser Ann-Marie
Chastko. We have already begun allocating tickets and remember this is open to
all of you.

All monies raised from RivCon will be going to some very worthy causes, so
please be generous and, by all means, feel free to join us at the convention
itself. It's really not too late!

Thank you kindly,

Felicity, Ann, Elaine, Juli, Vicky, Robin, Kate and Leona
The rivCON committee
