RIVCON CONVENTION UPDATE 4 - THE FINAL COUNTDOWN   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #120 of 470 |
Hi everyone,

With less than a month to go to RivCon, things are really hotting up. In the
last two days, we have heard from Tony Craig and Dean McDermott again and both
are looking forward to joining us for the convention.

But deadlines are looming. The closing date for pre-registrations is Friday,
19th May, 2000. After that we will be accepting applicants on the door at
slightly higher rates. At this point, we would like to say thank you kindly to
all those who are already fully registered, remind those who have provisionally
registered that we need to receive payment shortly or you risk losing your
dinner places and invite any who have been thinking about attending to REGISTER
NOW!!! We still have places open for the Gala Dinner, but these may go quickly,
so if you want to enjoy RivCon to its fullest don't delay. And even if you
can't come, please consider taking out a non-attendee registration as this
entitles you to a Welcome Pack of goodies complete with Convention Booklet,
which we hope to get signed by our guests, and the right to bid on all our
auction items. Remember the money raised will be going to good causes in the
U.K., United States and Canada.

The convention opens at 3pm on Friday, 26th May and runs through to 7pm on
Sunday, 28th May (and with the Monday being a bank holiday, everyone should have
plenty of time to make their way home afterwards) during which time we will be
running a packed schedule of events including guest panels, games, quizzes,
discussion panels, autograph sessions and a charity auction, for which we
already have some interesting and unusual items. (Check out the website for
further details on auction items in so far.)

As a special highlight we have received a delightful taped message of support
from everybody's favourite dead Mountie, Gordon Pinsent, which we intend playing
over the weekend. We will be showing Paul Gross' Q&A Panel from last year's RCW
convention and some of David Marciano's three talks from the 1998 event.
Alongside the main programme, we will also be running a video schedule featuring
all four seasons of Due South as well as other work from all of the main cast
with special attention being given to Paul Gross, David Marciano and Callum
Keith Rennie.

All in all RivCon promises to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Please feel
free to join the fun.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you soon. Thank you kindly!
