Hey peeps,

I thought I would send a wave out to all and let you know the plans for Can't
Stop the Serenity for this summer.

Over the last 2 years Tanya has done an amazing job with the showings. At the
end of last years event we asked many people what they would like to see
different at the next showing. Overall the majority of people felt like a more
"shindig". We have always wanted to do more and have a lot of limitations put on
us by the theaters. Also this year the theater we have used went up in price,
and it was significantly cheaper than any other theater. Eventhough we were
doing this to raise money for an awsome non-profit organization, we were quoted
prices up to over $2000. And that was only for enough time to run the movie. So
for these reasons we have moved away from having it at a movie theater to a
location that will allow us to still show the movie "theater style" but be able
to do so much more. I am happy to say that the UU Church in Charlotte have
confirmed that we can use their facilities. They recognise that we are not a
non-profit group officially, but because we are doing this to raise money for
Equality Now they are charging us a minimal facility fee. The people there have
been very cool. They also have installed a screen and projection system that we
can use in addition to the sound system at no additional cost.

We have decided to have our event on Saturday the 21st of June. Traditionally we
have had the event on the 23rd, which is Joss's birthday and this is an
organization that he feels very stong about. But we will stick to Saturday to
allow Browncoats from all around to come and party. Over the last year and a
half we have grown very close with Browncoats all thru NC, SC and more. Last
year some killer guys from the 76th came to our event from Atlanta. So to allow
everybody the chance to be able to come we are having the event on Saturday
instead of Monday. It would be hard for many people to come to the event driving
from places like Greenville and Asheville.

We will have a lot going on that day. Costume Contest, Games, Auctions,
Non-Raffle Raffles, Food (Browncoats love food), . . . and a lot more.

And the movie "Serenity".

The website will be open in about 2 weeks (mid-April) to buy tickets.

A lot more details are coming. I want to thank everybody that has helped so far.
Our groups have so many awsome people. Anybody else that is interested in
helping in any way (help day of event, offer services, anything) will alwasy be
accepted and appreciated. This will be an awsome event that will raise money,
but will also be a lot of fun.

I know I have made this message into an odyssey, but there is one other thing to
let you know about:

Cedric from the Bedlam Bards will be at our event and will be performing.

This should be a lot of fun.

Danny
