Sounds very cool. The G-Shock Godzilla 54 is really nice, one of M-1's best
I think.

How tall is the maquette m1? I have only seen it once and I want to
say that it is as tall as the 2002.
Do you know anyone who is selling one of these perchance?

Here ya' go: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20020614/hmv2.jpg

I like it, but I like the brown one better. GMK Godzilla was a
dark monster from a dark film, and this just seems a little too
bright for me. The brown one looks downright scary from dead-on
with those fangs and the white eyes jumping out at you from that
dark brown vinyl.

But the blue one's cool too.

---Thanks for the pix...!!!!
I agree that darker is better...I was actually under the impression
that the regular m1 was a black with silver or blue highlighting...
but the brown grew on me...I wasn't sure how light a brown it
was...and it's obviously dark =)
menacing!!

It's probably one of their biggest: at least a whole head above say, the
Biogoji or the Miregoji.

Nice size toy, goes nice next to a Bullmark 1971 Large Size Godzilla.

Wasn't there some talk at some point of the Bandai
Creation line coming out in the US having a large
scale Goji fig? If so, maybe we'll get a GMK Goji. :)
Maybe this will be an additon to their spring line?

Nothing quite that big, but if you're interested in a big GMK
Godzilla I highly (very highly) recommend the Bandai DX Remote
Controlled GMK Godzilla. It's 12" tall and 21" long from tip
to tail. I believe Planet Anime is still advertising them for
$75.50 -- don't know that they've actually got any in stock
still, but that's an awesome price and it can't hurt to ask.

Yeah that figure is pretty sweet. Probably the best RC toy Bandai
has done.

---God I hope so...I think we're about due for a new huge zilla...the
way he was meant to be recreated.
I am curious to see more pix of those american G's... I was so
impressed with the last set of publicity photos.
...I've got to make a confession...I work at sony and was here when
the original Gryphon character was the villain...I've seen all sorts
of G renditions and very few of them captured the G look and was able
to be a convincing Dinosaur at the same time. I personally lean
toward the dino look... but it has to have elements of the nostalgic
G...it's gotta familiar.... that's what I love about the GMK
version...it does both. He doesn't have a huge human chest...he's got
the belly but he doesn't look like a beer bellied slob like
depictions i the old comics. but I digress...

YES YES John I have that one in the middle of my dining room table -
whenever there is a lull or I don't care for the conversation he is
there to shake his head around and roar at everyone. HAHAH

Well yes I love the Blue G2K1 but really I like the green G2k a little
bit more. Plus recently on Yahoo Japan I acquired a couple of the
little green G2ks from HMV - I guess they came with the 2000 video.
They are awesome. Makes a nice family display.

This is so nice to talk about TOYS. Thanks guys - you knew I always
loved you guys best!!!!

Can anyone help me here: I have had the marui 89 and I know that
extra "suits" can be obtained...I have since sold it (it got
damaged)...and I have been wanting to just order the 89 suit...for
display...I believe that it's 200 just for the suit...anyone know who
might be able to help? I sold the paperwork with the box etc...so I'm
outta luck...

The Frankie and Barry set is nice:both of them. I like the blue Baragon
myself. Beautiful paint job.

The painting:, she's working on it!!!!! It will be ready. We'll have a TABLE
for the first time at Chiller in 10 years!!!! I made my peace with them and
all the animosity is healed. If there was any. AFFE had alot to do with that
as I grew to know Ed Bowkley who's cool and happens to be Chiller's exhibit
boss.

Are you sure Zakka will be there? He's cut out of cons lately,AFFE being the
most recent. He told me that he doesn't have the transport access anymore
and, he's so busy with the "other" aspects of his
store-clothing,books,graphic design stuff- that time is a problem for him.
He carries mostly mainstream toys but it's been awhile since he has carried
Marmits, M-1s and "obscure" stuff. Even Model kits are sorta on the low end.

Have you seen his site??Its cool and toys are yet to be added:

THere is FINALLY a vinyl model of both Baragon and G2002 coming out from a
group called West Kenji. They have cool toy-like poses and appearances and
are very cool. The Godzilla is somehting like 13 inches and Baragon 8 or 9.

The main "Toho Fan CLub" one is brown with silver. I got a Brown with blue

Do you know where you guys will be set up? Are you in the dealers room
or one of the exhibit rooms, like William Stout? Also, I was checking
the Chiller message boards and they announced that you have been added
to the guest list.

I hope he'll be there... I missed him at AFFE. I make it a point to
buy something from him at every show.

I fell IN LOVE with it when I first saw it on Ken Yano's slide in GODZILLA
VS THE SMOG MONSTER when I was 12 in l973. I saw it and said "WOW- THERE ARE
OTHER GODZILLA TOYS?" and I said, "I will have you. Oh yes, I will" So I
have an original in fairly good shape, a green one and a recent brown/gold
one.
I am a completist....

YEah, third floor with Kaluta or someplace. The fact the tent is no more and
they are moving the AUTOGRAPHS into the LOBBY is kind of insane.

Me too. I like Toshi. We planned to go to Japan last year and he wanted to
hook up with us in Kyoto, his home town! We could not make it because of
work and health. But he's a totally cool, deadly honest and real pal of a
dealer. I made it a point to buy things from him after 9/11 to help the NY
economy.

Yuji did some painting tests, and they gave me one as a gift. It's one of
those things you keep as a treasure.

I was in his store a few days after AFFE and he had a fair
number of Marmits & M-1s as well as some Popys and some older
Bandais. I bought the M-1 Plasma Gamera from him. I was
really happy to finally get one that still had the paint in
good condition, instead of being all green & flaky because of
reacting badly with the plastic from the bag -- the one I
bought had a few holes in the bag; just enough to let out
those harmful gasses, I guess!

The collecting fandom is dead. Long live the collecting fandom.

I'm going to be in Japan in December, and I hope to get my grubby
paws on the following:

Titanosaurus: At long last, a Titanosaurus, and for 700 yen! I saw
the prototype in a recent Hyper Hobby and it looks bootylicious. The
last Showa-era kaiju, right?

GD-series Mechagodzilla: Hopefully this lives up to the name
"chogokin". I may have to order this from Hobbylink Japan, it's
supposed to be a December release but Bandai is sometimes a little
late with these things.

Soul of Bullmark series 4 and 5: Unfortunately these are supposed to
be boxed sets, not capsule releases. I was hoping to fight salarymen
for a crack at the gashapon machines.

The idea of buying Japanese toys at the original yen prices gets me
aroused, to say the least. And all it costs is $1000 or so for a
plane ticket...

How about everyone else? Are folks here just selecting one or two
items or is this the "buy one of everything" crowd?

First off I would like to say hello to everyone. Hello. I am from
Monster Zero.
I buy all of the 8" size or 6" size Bandai vinyl's figures, except
for those that I have already. In other words, from the last batch
of 6" figs I only picked up the Burning G.
I will buy Junior, Classic Mecha G, and of course Titanosaurus. I
will also get the three Movie Vinyl's. I usually do not buy anything
else for a movie except for Theater figures and Those, SD sets. That
Diecast looks really cool so I may break down and buy that. I am not
sure about the Sound figures, I will have to see them for myself
first. Anyway, this time around is going to be expensive for me.
Also I may be getting hooked on the High grades. That last set was
cool. How big is the Chogokin Mecha G?

DUDE!
Have hope. Last winter we travelled to Japan for $570 return, each. And
AMericans are not flying these days and travel costs drops alot during the
winter as Japan isn't any warmer than the US. I think it is, but it isn't.
Even when we went over twice this year, the plane was like 1/3 full(from
Newark).

No, probably two of everything.

Hey Gang....

Lots of messages on the first day! That's cool...I just figured I'd poke my
head in and check this place out. I seemed to agree with much that Gene
said in that post on GodzillaC.

For those not in the know, I belong to that ill-breed of "nearly broke"
Godzilla collectors! ;P
I work a decent-paying job, but I have family and all the accoutrements
associated with that kind of thing. I do make it a point to check out a
slew of Yahoo auctions - good for drooling and I like keeping my ear to the
ground. Aside from collecting the Bandais I have really started to raise
my eyebrow to the Marmit Parababy series. Nothing new recently, but I'm
expecting my belated TE GMK Godzilla, a Clear-grey Baltan and hopefully
*fingers crossed* a Hyper Hobby Glitter GMK Godzilla!

I am also a model-freak, but talk about a pricey hobby! Some of those
resin kits are so high-priced that I just have to turn the other way and
pretend that I didn't see anything! On that front, I'm expecting a Volks
Jr. Varan soon!

Lets see, I also am a poster collector. I have some really cool ones IMHO
that I just haven't really seen anywhere else - that is actually one of the
latest acquisitions too, the "Since Godzilla" poster! I have it hanging on
my stark-white wall at work.

Anyway, I look forward to talkin' up the toys with the lot of you.

-Kyle
