Clare + Julie Benz & John Saffir Q&A - Orlando Update #8
Here are a few photos of their Q&A.
JULIE'S HUSBAND, JOHN SAFFIR
John is primarily under long-term contracts to do voices for animation.
He got into the business via standup comics. He's most noted for being
the voice of the HBO series "The Cryptkeeper"
He said that he wasn't the superhero type physically, but that he could be
anything, even a superhero, in animation with his voice.
Earlier when we talked some to her at their table beside Clare's, Julie had told us
that they'd first met in an acting class.
In one of our earlier posted table photos of Julie & John, he has a wireless microphone
in his hand from the radio station booth. He was doing a series of Cryptkeeper voices
for the crowd over the radio station sound system in the hall.
JULIE'S FALL HBO SERIES
Julie also has a fall 2006 HBO series coming up where she's a former victim
("I was raped and abused on a daily basis, " she told us of her character).
And now she's the girlfriend of a police blood-spatter expert she peactically
worships - because he treats her so well.
But she has no idea that he's also a serial killer - of other serial killers.
Because he thinks like them.
And can outsmart them.
Julie said that the audience knows this, but her character is clueless.
She said in the Q&A that she's been playing victims lately, rather than predators like Darla.
(Or like on Roswell as the duplicitious FBI agent Topolski). And was telling of her appearance
on CSI:Miami upcoming (then) 2/27/06.

Clare & Julies' Sparkly Tops
This probably as good a place as any to pass along Clare's enthusiastic tale
of her amazement that Saturday she & Julie both appeared from their hotel
rooms wearing essentially the same top.
Clare's is the one in the previous post where she's showing off her new ring
with her hands under her chin. Clare said, as we closely inspected the source of
the sparkly stuff, that it was metallic-like silvery threads in the material.
But there were also some other shiny things on the outside, we noted - as the photo shows.
And that hers' was basically light blue - whereas Julie's was light pink.
The coincidence seemed to surprise her.
She kept talking to us about it.
Clare & Julie
Julie & Clare are best friends, as we've noted since Toronto in 2004.
They'e a lot alike. At her table Clare was munching on almonds she pulled from her
handbag in a ziplock bag. "Raw almonds," she clarified.
Sure enough, Julie then pulled out a similar ziplock bag with almonds also.
But she asked us not to photo her eating them.
Julie has a very high-pitched voice when she's speaking naturally.
Like a little girl's voice that makes you look twice to see she's all grown up.
Clare's voice is, well, uniquely Clare's.
