RE: The "Slayer Cruise" Reaction - Other Passengers

Note Clare being mentioned in the article.
Clare told us in L.A. she'd already signed
up for the 2007 Slayer Cruise.

=========================================
CLARE VIGNETTE
She kept telling us in L.A. she thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and the
fact that she was on it for a whole week with all of us, yet got to
take off with Brian on their own private island adventures each time
we docked.

Plus the island shopping, of course.
========================================

And we kept pestering the familiar Vulkon people
(there to sell 2007 signups and the advance
copies of the 5 DVD set from the 2005 cruise)
for Clare's free DVD set.

Because Camden was showing his DVD set off to us.
And Clare was feeling left out.

Eventually she got her DVD set.
And it vanished into that big white
purse she was living out of, while
commuting each day from her Sherman Oaks
home.

...
Also where Clare put the printed copy of the
GLORY NASA satellite mission article post
(from here just before the L.A. event).
We'd carried a copy for Clare, because
we weren't sure we'd have access to a printer.

Clare said something about putting it in her
Glory files.
...

The SF Chronicle writer wasn't far off.

The June 2005 Slayer Cruise, which
the author seems blissfully unaware of,
did cause some reaction.

We were told that the advertising outside
the rooms, where the various events occurred
on the ship, initially caused some reaction
and lots of questions from some other passengers.

The simple phrase "Slayer Cruise" does sound ominous
to outsiders. It was also on the front windows of the tour
buses that took us from the (Friday pre-cruise party)
Westin hotel to the ship Saturday morning.

Oh, well...2007's a long time away.
