No Queen City Film and Video Festival this weekend!   Message List

An important note about the Queen City Film and Video Festival

Due to circumstances out of my control, the festival will not happen
this weekend on August 14th, as originally planned. Right now it
looks like the actual showing will be in late September or perhaps
into October.

Originally tied in with the 48 hour project, it was thought that
with 36 potential movies for that event alone, it would be wise to
move the festival to the 48 hour winners show date.
I had not been given any information at all concerning the amount of
time until just this past week as to what time I was to have, the
charges I would incur, the timing of things limiting my ability to
be able to market the festival at all or sell advance tickets. My
hands have been tied because if the association with 48 hours.

I am now told that the winner's screenings will be at one of two
possible locations that does not include the Greaves Concert hall,
site of this weekends event and the original location. I do not know
at this time anything more than that. So again, my hands are tied as
to what I can do to market the film fest.

I have not given up hope on a link between the two but at the same
time I have to be able to get something going definitively and
regain some kind of control to make it a success.

I am open to other possible locations if anyone wants to step
forward with ideas.

I am having some surgeries done in the next week and will need
approximately 3 weeks minimum recovery time. The surgery is
scheduled for the day after the next SOFA meeting on August 18th. It
was thought that the festival would have been behind me by then,
therefore the possibility now of an October film festival, depending
on several factors.

To this point, there has been absolutely no marketing done.. The web
site, QCfilmfestival.tripod.com
remains the best source of information for those who want to keep up
with the changes as they happen.

As a plug, I was part of the team "Orville and Wilbur" over the 48
hour weekend and we created a wonderful 8 minute short
entitled "Corporate Ladder" in the horror genre category.
My thanks go out to a wonderful cast and crew to make not only a
wonderful movie, regardless of the time we had to make it but also
such professionalism shown throughout and the talent evident
throughout the process in every area. I had a great time doing make
up, hair and wardrobe for the cast and putting my signature on the
film. Thanks to those who gave me that chance. I was in a zone the
entire weekend and had a great time, while learning and evolving in
many ways!
That brings me to the "Directors' Cuts" I would like to screen at
the film fest. Any and all films shot during the weekend are wanted,
so if you have one, send it to me! All the same rules apply, VHS,
DVD or MiniDV formats welcomed and there are no entry fees!
Send them to the address below.
Thanks all!
Peace,

QC Film Fest
