For fans of the Catherine Marshall book, 'Christy' as well as the television series with Kellie Martin and the miniseries that was on PAX.

This group will also be for the researching of the REAL "Christy", (Catherine Marshall's mother), Leonora Whitaker Wood, who's life inspired the book.

"It was nearly 100 years ago that an inspired young woman named Leonora Whitaker left her comfortable home in Asheville, North Carolina, on a cold and snowy day in January, to come to Del Rio, Tennessee, in order to live and teach at the Presbyterian mission located at Morgan Branch."
