Hi Everyone:
With Chris Kramer coming to Timeless Destinations, you
may want to give some considersation to the general hotel
announcement that was posted on the Yahoo Timeless
Destinations chat site which reads as follows:
As most of you know Timeless Destinations has finalized our
hotel arrangements with The Richmond Inn / Best Western.
There were a few reasons why it has taken us this long to
make this announcement.
1) - First of all the Richmond Inn had increased their 2006
per night room rates in our contract. Rates that Timeless
Destinations thought were too high. Appreciate that
Vancouver will be hosting the 2010 Olympics and hotel rates
are slowly climbing in Vancouver. One or two of other local
hotels will be closed for renovations resulting in the
number of available rooms being smaller than usual. After
some heavy negotiating Timeless Destinations agreed to a
modest increase that were smaller than originally requested.
2) - Last Autumn there had been a fire in the hotel due to
some construction materials being improperly stored. The
Board of Directors of Timeless Destinations needed 100%
assurance that our guests would be totally safe next August.
After some in-depth discussions with the Fire Marshal &
other Government agencies, we are fully satisfied that the
management of The Richmond Inn has taken every precaution
to protect the safety of Timeless Destinations' guests &
attendees. The Richmond Inn is as safe if not safer than
any other hotels in Vancouver.
3) - The hotel had some misconceptions about the plans and
objectives of the Timeless Destinations' Board of Directors
as well as the TD Convention 2006 itself. However, after
discussions and negotiations, I am happy to state that
management of the Richmond Inn and the TD Board are on the
same page. I have, again, personally signed the hotel
agreement that includes the new requirements for TD 2006.
The hotel management is satisfied that TD 2006 is a fan
run, charity driven convention operating as a business with
a business plan, financial objectives and financial
controls.
4) - The hotel is aware of our future objectives for TD2006.
We are looking at 50 guests coming to TD2006. Five of our
guests may be major star actors. The names of these five
guests will shock the convention world that they may be
coming to Timeless Destinations 2006.
So far we have commitments from 29 guests. We have certain
fan clubs that are wanting to hold reunions at TD2006. We
have studio tours planned. We have a bigger & better boat
cruise being planned. We have events occurring from 9:00
AM to midnight every day for a week. We will have stage
presentations with 2 or 3 other events occurring at the
same time. This will force our attendees to plan & make
choices. The hotel is fully aware of our plans. Plans that
excite them. Plans that force us to place a ceiling of 750
attendees that can attend TD2006.
Bottom line if you want to be part of TD2006 and you want
be at the hotel where the convention is occurring, you
better make your hotel reservations now. A reservation can
be cancelled prior to the "stated date of arrival" and that
only ties up your credit card for an one night's booking
(note, this is not charged UNLESS you do not checkin).
