“The lives of saints and men and women of history offer so many lessons and I find their stories of transformations and redemption very appealing. The many tribulations they faced and how they triumphed from it all present so many lessons and inspiration, which sad to say barely reach the young, that is why I am making them as plays,” answers Francis Villacorta, talent-manager, writer and director when asked why he is undertaking this present endeavor.

“Through our offerings in Francis Villacorta Presents, we will bring this advocacy of mine to fruition and we see theater as the best medium to use for this cause since we all know the power of theater to inform, entertain and educate,” he adds.

“Dominic” is the first production of Francis Villacorta Presents. It is a concert drama on the life of Dominic Savio, the boy saint who led a blessed life and died in his teens. A student of St. John Bosco, the young boy lived by the motto: “Death but not Sin”.

During his lifetime, Dominic exemplified the many fine qualities of youth and exhibited all the virtues of a saint.

Performing in Dominic are Christian Vallaser, Richard Manabat, Andrei David, Troy De Guzman, Gina Villa, Abel Napuran, Patrick Jimenez, Jahymarie Villacorta, John Rhoderey and Joshua Matthew Dizon, Robert Correa and Perry Escaño.  The play also features an interactive band performance by the Rollback Band.

In February, Francis Villacorta Presents the Jose P. Laurel Story, a play chronicling the life of former President Laurel from his youth to the founding of the Lyceum of the Philippines; and come March, The Life of Saint Augustine, a musical on the life of Augustine of Hippo, set to the music of Waldy del Rosario.
 
In August till the end of 2009, the following productions will come to life on stage – The Chronicles of Narnia, a trilogy of O. Henry Stories specifically The Last Leaf, After Twenty Years and The Gift of the Magi, play adaptations of Cinema Paradiso and La Strada, and Fransico Baltazar.
